Where’s Dunkmistress Illaoi? Just curious. The concept was highly requested by the community, and I would’ve thought that especially because of the fact we can choose her next skin, Dunkmistress would’ve been thrown into the lot.
Did the concept just not work no matter how many times y’all tried? Or did the team as a collective decide it just wasn’t a good idea? Or what?
I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s wondering.

I think Dunkmaster Illaoi is just a given that they're going to do at some point and they'd rather have us decide between skins that can actually compete with each other and also wouldn't involve all new voice lines.
Given how business works, and I can't say if this is 100% true or not, but it seems to be the case from their previous decisions, but skins generally shouldn't be based on ideas the community uses. There've been numerous cases of fans taking those and trying to get compensation for the 'idea' that most big companies will avoid using anything close to what a fan has made without it being directly connected to something else in their library (like how Azir's necromancer skin FINALLY came out and was tied to Ryze Whitebeard, Caskgreaker Gragas, and Varus Swiftbolt). Additionally, Pool Party Illaoi would need to come out closer to when they release the Pool Party skins in the summer.
Unfortunately if you're getting annoyed at fan requests not getting into the game and them going with a different direction, it is partially due to legality. They want to avoid an incident similar to what happened to 'JuJu' in Skullgirls. For those that don't know its an incident where the team took the fan design for the character Juju who was only referenced in Parasoul's Super quoute where she said either "Take the shot Juju!" or "Number 13, take the shot!" This fan boasted about it and wanted compensation despite the NDA they setup for it and it caused a whole slew of issues before they just cut Juju's existence entirely.
There are MANY cases like this that have happened in the past. Complaining about them not using fan designs or even taking their own spin on things is because they CAN'T. Its a huge risk and it should be respectable that they may even attempt to release skins similar to fan ideas in the future. This isn't OG Riot who are a small group. They can't do stuff like French Maid Nidalee or Battle Bunny Riven anymore without a lot of risk and legal stuff.
Lastly, if Dunkmistress was one of the options do you really think anyone would vote for any of the other ideas? Let Riot flex its creative muscles. Most champs don't get a legendary skin as their second skin anyways, and we all know if Dunkmistress wasn't an 1820 people would get pissy about that :P
probably because it would negate the point of the voting, since everyone would vote for the dunk -.- thus not giving these skins a fair shake.
Unless its a pick between three legendary skins, I think Dunkmistress should be made only as a Legendary skin. If they arent picks for a Legendary, then Ill wait for the eventual Dunkmistress in her full deserved glory.
In my opinion the fact that its been 2 years I would assume this next skin would be something like community created skins since we had to wait this long for it. Granted there were other champions who had to wait longer, its just proves they rather make skins for popular champions than actually make skins for champions equally. Dont get me wrong from a business standpoint ya, making skins for popular champions are a must. But its becoming a point where you have Champions like Ahri, Lee, Ryze, Annie, and the upcoming Blitz skins when you have make very detailed skins for them, but cant put that into champions who really need it like Illaoi.
Ive seen artwork from various artist who make things like DunkMaster skin, or PoolParty that i felt would have been something worth the wait. No offense but these 3 skins at least for the time being just dont feel worth the wait. And i feel the time spent could have been for skins like DunkMaster or PoolParty.
I still think Dunkmaster Illaoi would be weird tentacle-wise. Most suggestions implied they should be hoops but... hoops just don't move like that.
The community had tons of good ideas for Illaoi skins, I'm pretty surprised not one of the top suggestions is even remotely represented/evolved in the choices.
Where is Pool Party Illaoi? Dunkmistress Illaoi? Program Illaoi? I would have voted for any of those over the 3 options presented.
All three of them are pretty good, I voted for Battlecast although I wouldn't be opposed for the space one, but Alien Queen Illaoi hinted at in Dreadnova GP would have been so dope. The Deep Space one doesn't quite fit in with that, and the Explorer Illaoi? I'm sure it would be cool but that doesn't exactly scream 'top three material out of tons of cool ideas already floated by the community'.
I woulda killed for a Blood Moon or Elderwood Illaoi but that's just me.

Phew! I just posted something similar to this and thought I was the only one. She literally dunks more than darius. A random chance of either a foam finger, a ref uniform, or a basketball hoop for the tentacles. Her obviously in basketbally jersey. Idol obviously basketball. It's too fitting. Also, a while back, a rioter more or less confirmed it by saying it was a matter of "when not if".
Riot is simply a garbage company. Two years and these three garbage skins are what they came up with? And then couldn't even decided between them which was the least shitty?

Also, they really need to drop the "games" from their logo. I mean.. they don't even really own this one. Tencent League of Legends is infuriating anymore.
I feel like they're saving that one for another time, rather than make it her first skin since release, because (I think) that they have bigger plans for it (Have it be Legendary for example).
I was pretty surprised they didn't have Dunkmaster Illinoise either. She's definitely due for a skin and I also remember her void skin was considered a thematic failure so I understand why they would want to ask us the second time around, however I'm surprised they chose her out of all the champs because she doesn't have the biggest fan base. I'm glad I had the chance to vote and I think this is a great idea, but at the end of the day it wont make a different to me because I won't personally be buying the skin.
