Help me Improve my map awareness

So I am a Silver player and I am just asking if there are any champions that greatly revolve around map awareness such as Shen, that I can play that will help me improve my map awareness. I notice things on the map, but wards don't help me too much as usually I tunnel when trying to last hit or trade with my opponent. I play AP mages in mid, also any general tips would be nice, because for the most part I avoid ganks through reading my opponent, which i'm not always successful with

Every 5 seconds look at map for 1 second and keep doing it til it becomes a habit, of course don't look at map when you team fight but only if your about to kill the 3rd enemy then the fed riven comes in and R's everybody with a duskblade... So yeah 5 seconds look at map for 1 second.

Is there really any advice to give other than "look at your map" lol

I actually get somewhat tilted when I'm watching streamers that cover their minimap because I want to look at it so often xd

Generally yes, keep looking at map every 5-9 sec along with warding it. For me it was enough to develop my map awareness and presence.
