Ryze (again)

Right now with the current change to his ultimate, Zhonya's Cancels it, he basically has no ultimate in lower elo. When I play Ryze I feel like there is little to no point in me getting my ultimate at all, because if I engage a fight with it then they will just predict that and kill us when we arive. I can't disengage from a fight because I have no method to prevent myself from being crowd controlled. I currently find the only good use of his ultimate is to move minions from one inhib tower to another, and that feels absolutely terrible. I am not saying he needs to have a huge buff, I just want Ryze to have four abilities, not the three that he has now, because moving minions does not count as an ultimate to me.

The ultimate is extremely powerful hence why it was nerfed. The fact that it's basically useless in Low ELO and uncoordinated solo queue is not the fault of the champion.

Well what should I do now? Because when a Sejuani jungle comes in it's not like I can really dodge that, nor can I dodge pantheon W. Also doesn't Riot balance for all elos, it's not ok to say anyone in low elo can't play ryze without having only 3 abilities, and then in high elo he is balanced. I just think they need to do something, like how Alistar needed changes to be viable in either elo, I think Ryze also needs that

The same thing you do when you play Ori? Root your target instead of using the Ori slow and get run. Also remember that having two rune charges gives you MS.

Bonus points for building either an Abyssal or Zhonyas after you get your tear based on who you are most afraid of (Abyssal is preferably as Zhonyas actually can put you a little behind).

What am I supposed to do in situations like, let's say Syndra and Sejuani. Sejuani has 3 abilities that she can use to catch up to me and cc me, syndra has one but is still easy to hit? Like, how else am I to use my ultimate other than move minions?

Either dodge their CC abilities or just play around not getting into that situation since you KNOW they have them? It just sounds to me like you don't respect their jungler enough and open yourself to ganks and thinking that your ult should be a get out of jail free card.

His ultimate is extremely powerful in pro play is why it was nerfed. It's pretty shit all around in solo queue, and it's a norm to not level it up. That's how bad it is. I don't think there's a single champion in the game who delays their ultimate like Ryze does.

How should we use it when they have very easy cc, I keep using Sejuani so let's say her charge, what else should we use it for other than to try and disengage. Because from my times using it, engage will fuck up our team, disengage is now not reliable, and tricking them which I do sometimes. What else is there to do with it before you get to their base?

I think it's perfectly fine that the ability needs more knowledge and coordination in order to use it properly. If you're engaging with it and you get punished you most likely fucked up. It's a good disengage tool, it's a good flank tool and is still an okay tool to escape ganks, it's just no longer a get out of jail free card. One of the things you can still do is to move around the ultimate after you cast it to dodge CC abilities that can be dodged. You can also get out of the ultimate and flash back in it in the last second. And you shouldn't rely on your ultimate so much to dodge ganks. It's easier to just play around their jungler but that's another topic. Vision and map control.
