Looking for my next champion

Hi, I am looking for a new mid lane champion. I currently main and my friends say that if I win lane then I dominate, and I asked what champions scale super hard in mid lane and they said that I main him right now. I am here to ask what champion, preferable a mage please, that is super hard to shut down late game. As a second part if you know a champion that fits the mentioned criteria and also has alot of cc with alot of damage, but this is just a bonus no need to pay attention to this if you don't know. Other champs that I own are , , , and if this helps. They are champs that I own that I think might scale hard (maybe not Malzahar though). If you know multiple champions that scale hard then please say all of them. I was also recommended just now to try , , and before Riot removed it for not being under gameplay. Thanks ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ

Azir is a super tough champions to play. I only recommend it if you are a very mechanically talented player. I enjoy playing Azir, but even after 50ish games I still kinda suck with him. Malzahar is very annoying to play against, but lacks mobility. Anivia is very strong at the moment. Brand, Orianna, Syndra, and Xerath are all probably good to have, as they tend to shift in and out of the meta quite often. Veigar is also a good pick, with lower skill floor but also lower skill ceiling.

I would recommend Brand and Anivia at the moment, at least until the mid-season mage update.

Lux

Lux will nearly always be safe as long as your not doing something blatantly stupid. She's also really simplistic to play and bursts nearly everything in a single combo when fed. Not to mention she can kill the opponent laner's power spikes by forcing a early maw + qss. Her e is literally point and click to hit. All of her damaging abilities + 1 auto will proc thunderlords. Oh, and riot has had her in this state for quite a long while without any changes. Just know that many people are starting to ban her (If there isn't anything more important to get out of the way I ban lux). She's a annoying matchup for nearly everything that is not Talon, Galio, Ahri.

I'm totally not pushing this champion just so it'll get more fotm and be targeted for a much needed nerf.
