Is jungle Nidalee fun if you're good at her?

Because I'm not good at her and I did not enjoy dying to literal one shots from level 3 on to the end of the game just because I made the mistake of getting within 500 units of somebody.

I can't describe in words how not fun it was.

Is there a payoff to learning how to play her or should I just go do jungle garen or something? I'm not asking if she's good when played well, I'm asking if she's fun when played well.

she is a high skill champ in low elows she is typically a liability. in higher elos if you are good on her she can be over baring.

She's very fun, but yeah, you'll feel very squichy until you get decent with her. Red smite helps a lot.

She can also pack quite a punch though, often enough to outburst those annoying AD assassins, with the help of red smite.

But there's plenty of other fun to play champions that aren't that hard at first. It's all up to preference.

Definitely was better for clear when traps were %hp, but yeah, Nidalee has a lot of opportunity for min/max and that doesn't lend itself well to newer players. Prowl, Hunt, animation cancels, and Aspect of the Cougar all have benefits for PvE and PvP that can give you a lot of extra oomph very early, and while I'm partial to AD and support Nidalee, don't find the AP build to be that unintuitive or overtly expensive to be effective. Utilize Prowl, get Hunt procs, use your Aspect of the Cougar resets and auto and animation cancels to eek out more damage.

She's worth learning IMO, after the Kayle rework ruins her, Nidalee will assume the position of the best one-trick generalist.

She's a high skill cap champ. Look at KR winrate with her in high elo. Absolutely a monster there. No one's good enough in NA/EU to play her to her full potential though.

Wouldn't say I'm good

but she clears really nicely once you figure out how to clear quickly (things like hitting the big wolf with the spear). And especially once you get lich bane.

I'd say a big part of her trickiness is she's not a tank/fighter, she's a poke mage-assassin. As the game goes on you spend more time just chucking big nuke spears and maintaining a safe distance rather than hopping in the moment you land your first one. Like she's probably the best at abusing gathering storm mastery (the every 10 minutes gain more max ap) because of the spear ratio.
