It became faceroll to win, whomever deals more damage in the least amount of time wins. No strategy is required anymore.

Gibberwatt5 votes

its always been that way dingus

Gibberwatt7 votes

In the history of the world. Like, in all combat, ever.

"Whoever hits the other guy more wins" - literally every general ever

DrCyanide34 votes

And how did you hit the other guy more effectively? Either better weapons, better training, more soldiers, or better strategy.

Game balance should provide equal weapons and people per team. Matchmaking should provide equally experienced players. That should leave us with strategy to win the game.

Instead we've got weapons that are so effective at killing there's no time for strategy. The fight ends almost as soon as it starts, with "just throw everything at them" being pretty much optimal 95% of the time.

TheHappyReaperz1 votes

If matchmaking provided equally matched players, with equally matched weapons, the game would literally be a 50/50 coin flip.

DrCyanide4 votes

It depends on how far you take "equally matched", since there are a plethora of ways to compare players. In a perfect system the teams are even in skill and tools, so it comes down to who can execute on that better.

Far from being a coin flip, it's the true expression of skill. It's a case where your decisions as a player matter most.

TheHappyReaperz1 votes

If players were perfectly matched, where you had clones of a team play against themselves, using the same champions, with the same runes, and buying the same items, then the game would be a 50/50 split. It would be entirely up to RNG to decide the winner, hence the coin flip.

Enloct2 votes

No, then it would be 100% blue side victory. Kek.

Fairyfleur1 votes

Facerolling might work if you're ahead but if you do that on even footing you are going to lose.

This is why i was against the introduction of assassins back in like 2012.

1v1 single rotation kills should've never become a thing, outside of the odd case of someone being so much better than you that they end up 20 kills and 5 levels ahead. At that point, i'd expect them to overkill you.

[zombie-brand-mindblown] me trying to understand rito.

[sg-ahri-1] after looking at a couple of games with any assassins

[zombie-nunu-bummed] just accepting it like i always do.

Blakers112 votes

I keep seeing you comment saying how broken Assassins are. Damage is up (or innate tankiness is down) across the board. I've seen ad carries, mages, ap/ad assassins, and everything else just completely pop off. I think the issue is just too much damage is being taken by everyone from everything. It genuinely feels terrible.

Barcid3 votes

Not just too much damage, scaling by level has gone through the roof on these keystones. No subtlety anymore, just destruction.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

Have you played against any poke mages yet? They are also pretty strong now x)

Any ATS champ that makes it past the early game is also downright terrifying.

NinjaFifer1 votes

My VelKoz is pretty gross. Thanks to all the free AP and Arcane Comet I can easily 100-0 someone from 800 units away at level 6. First item Luden's turns a single hit from my Q into 50% of your hitpoints, and with ult extends my kill range to 1000 units if you weren't at 100%. It's pretty stupid.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

I've had similar experiences playing Lux x)

Arcane comet on her E +scorch? 1/5 -1/3 of someone's health every 20 seconds from massive range depending on how much AP you have. And it's hard to dodge due to the sheer size of her E.

Electrolute? A lot of free damage to the full combo

Add in manaflow band and you can practically spam the stuff.

Stillshade10 votes

better than league of tanks.

Executioner6 votes

Couldn't agree more. That shit is the most boring thing.

GigglesO8 votes

What do you have too short of an attention span to do something more than instagib the enemy. When tanks are actually tanky and not damagy it adds strategy like blocking skillshots, distracting the enemy, split pushing with sunfire. Right now tanks either are massive cc whores, or die just as fast as everyone else, while dealing just as much damage. It makes the game pitiful.

Thiadel3 votes

I would rather see tanks bursted down instead of having Garen or Maokai literally 1 v 5 the entire team, get a penta, and then walk away with a tenth of his health.

GigglesO1 votes

While not wrong, they shouldn't hvae been doing that in the first place, and they hadn't done that until recently when they pushed higher damage values out to all champions.

Executioner8 votes

We must be playing two different games then. I dont see tanks dying just as fast like everyone else. When I see a tank meta, I see dives. A lot of fucking dives.

You can already block skill shots as a tank.

Distracting the enemy? You're not distracting anyone with your lard like ass. What you are doing as a tank is pushing the people who do damage, away from the team. Or you are catching whoever is carrying the game. Which makes the back line have no choice, but everyone to peel you off them. That's not much strategy.

Split pushing as a tank? Lets be real, the time of the split pushing tank was the poppy and mao'kai. That shit was aids, no one had fun, but the tanks. Want to know why? They could freely dive anyone they lived, kill someone and get out.

Tanks have always been massive CC whores, dont delude yourself.

GigglesO2 votes

So shen never used sunfirecape, and his ulti to split push? Mundo never built atmas impalier and sunfire and split push, (Partially) ad alistar (bonus damage to towers passive) never just straight up decimated towers, nasus never split pushed, sion never split pushed with his old massvie 55 ad bonus before rework...

Yea all of those were split pushing tactics at one time. As far as CC whores, Mundo was considered a tank at one point, and so was shen. Both only had 1 form of CC... so no, no they were not always considdered CC whores, that is only the last 2-3 seasons.

In season 1 you actually had full tank adc's for that matter, thats how far the game has come to push damage damage damage.

better than league of tanks.

You mean the three tanks that were specifically overbuffed while the rest of the class sat in the dumpster?

GigglesO1 votes

This pretty much takes the cake, they changed design values a few seasons ago so that not everyone had the option to build tank. Season 1 even adc's had the option to build tank and do something with it. Then again that is why 70-80 minute games existed, but I think there is a happy medium between this crap, and tanks being too tanky.

Hey, preaseon is always a shitshow. Before insulting Riot you should probably wait until after the impending massive balance changes are over

I've already waited a year for them to fix things [slayer-jinx-wink]

LordGeovanni18 votes

ive waited 4

Vermonster6 votes

I was about to say. A year? Guess you haven't been playing for very long.

Killerjays2 votes

like how they finally gutted ardent censor lol

LordGeovanni3 votes

and how it fixed nothing because the same adcs running around doing the same things because while ardent censer did have a strong attack speed buff its was only strong because the top adcs had built in attack speed buffs and damage amplification which they still do have.

LordGeovanni13 votes

If preseason is always a shit show all you are saying is riot repeatedly royally fucks up.

Eedat2 votes

No its because its when they always made a ton of major changes which are always going to cause balance issues. Its literally impossible to foresee how every single change is going to interact with every single situation, champion, item, and scenario. However, its necessary to keep the game fresh and interesting

LordGeovanni13 votes

Yet the community who not even play the games just watch streamers play pbe always predict exactly what happens right on these same boards. seems like some people arent qualified if they make changes and dont know what the changes are gonna do. They repetedly make changes where damage numbers are too high or cooldowns for damage is too low you think they would learn to gate the damage or make is less nope they come back with near the same numbers every change. reverse with defensive options.

Eedat3 votes

Yeah dude because watching high Diamond+ streamers shit on silver in the PBE is an awesome way to demonstrate balance which is alwys what happens. But hey, lets just click on that new clickbait video "OMG NEW MASTERY OP?!?!? WATCH AS THIS D1 PLAYER SHITS ON SILVERS!!!"

The PBE is 100% a joke. Its legit Challenger players vs golds. Yeah, so informative. Hence why the PBE is used to catch bugs and not much more. The fact that you're even considering taking advice from the PBE is 100% proof you've never played on it.

But hey! This random bronze 4 player has decided that he could do a better job and has deemed himself fit to tell the balance team that they're unqualified for their job LOL. Yeah dude you tell em. Yeah man you should write a letter to all those high diamond members of the balance team asking for them to resign.

Lit Corn3 votes

actually most of riot's employees are below gold 3 , not high diamond ... tho they try to have a bit of each elo . PBE basically shows what the patch will do , so no its not useless .

Eedat1 votes
Lit Corn1 votes

riot employee , not balancing team , and oh btw , diamond 4 ISNT high diamond and they gave us just 6 random ppl of the team ... Their job is to balance the game well , currently its not balanced at all and its understandable that people criticize them if they dont do their job well ... right ? play a few games and come back on baords tho , you'll change your mind real fast about current balancing .

Xonra9 votes

Well you tell me when preseason actually ends and maybe I'll go with ya on that one. I'm still waiting for preseason for season 7 to end and we just went straight into preseason 8.

GigglesO7 votes

This, I am so tired of the high damage shit show that each season keeps promoting, its literally whomever has the highest DPS insta wins every fight right now. There is no I blocked damage or anything.

PrinceOfStorms12 votes

Dude anyone with a brain could realize that marksmen deal so much damage that they'd actually be fair if their damage as a class was cut in half. Riot won't give them the Olaf-level gutting they deserve because marksmen are their golden child class.

Alimentateur3 votes

cait crit with only having ER & IE .. ~2300 (50% chance) good bye tanks

LightIsMyPath9 votes

That shit is crazy. Yesterday I was playing a fed Annie, facing a fed Caitlyn. I all ined her but stepped on a trap in the process: She landed an auto while my Q was in travel and I activated E: I straight up died on 1 auto and she got stunned with the q so my comet landed on her, plus the damage from my E so she died too.. Wtf is this lol

Fairyfleur3 votes

You stepped in a small and telegraphed trap. You deserve to lose something for it.

Horse Grenades7 votes

That's not the point. 1 auto shouldn't kill anyone with that range.

LightIsMyPath7 votes

my point is not that Cait in particular is unfair: my point is damage is fucking crazy everywhere. Annie is a burst mage but she should not be able to kill only landing one targeted q + the damage from her "mini thornmail" E. I am not complaining about Cait.. we BOTH died simoultaneously (well she died with the comet so I died little time before her). It was hilarious and sad at the same time.
