Riot, does the "Ready" button REALLY need to be so obnoxiously complicated???

IT'S A ****ING READY BUTTON. Not the solution to world hunger.

Why does it need to be so complicated that it will randomly freeze up the client and refuse to go away, forcing you to take a dodge penalty because there's nothing else you can do?

Edit: My problem is when you click "Accept", it registers as you clicking "Accept", waits for everybody else to Accept, and then moves on to the champion select screen for 'everybody' except it doesn't for you because your client is stuck with the giant ass blue circle on your screen waiting for god-knows-what as everybody else is declaring their champion, banning, and picking. And then when it gets to your turn to pick, you can't do anything, because you're just sitting there looking at the giant blue circle with "Accept" on it and so you get booted and eat a dodge penalty as soon as the time for you to pick runs out.

(Although I've also suffered the infamous "you clicked accept but we didn't like your click so we just pretended you didn't click accept" bug a few times in the past as well)

Because their client is made of excrement.

Not knocking you but are you sure this isn't just on your end? I've never had it do this to me.

  1. It’s a button how is it complicated, you click it.
  2. If you miss the ready up button you dont get a dodge penalty (unless your talking about the ‘lock in’ button in champ select, in which case it is even less complicated, click a champ, click lock in)
  3. If your talking about a glitch that happens when readying up/locking in, that renders your client stuck, you should address it as such not this ambiguous way of complaining.

I personally have never had a ready up button problem, and think that the feature that brings it to the front of your screen if you are in a different site is helpful.

I have had trouble with the lock in button, where the timer runs down to 0 and I get stuck there until I restart. But that is a connection issue, and not entirely on Riots side.

What exactly is your problem?

Oh what about the times when your Que Pops and you hit Accept and wait to go in, but some ungodly reason it says you did not ready up, when you clearly clicked the accept button and even got to the point of waiting to go into lobby.

As someone who designs software for a living, I can tell you outright that the visual appearance of the button has zero effect on how it performs its function. A button, is a button, is a button. It could be a gray square with no text or a gussied-up piece of work like the one you refer to in the client; the base component is still the same.

Still, I sympathize! I have this problem, albeit rarely, but I have definitely hit the button in the past and had the queue drop, notifying me that I failed to ready (as have my friends). Really, this could be anything- system could be momentarily bogged down using resources for other programs, internet connection could drop off for a moment, the client itself could fail to send the packet, the packet could get dropped between client and server, the server could fail to acknowledge the client packet, et cetera... The point being here, the 'fanciness' of the button doesn't actually have any bearing on how it works, and another difficult to pinpoint issue is causing your problems.

I remember when my brother told me that he always clicks ''Accept'' but client registers as ''declined''. I didn't believe him until I saw it with my eyes. Hahah it was so funny

He clicks accept but it says declined. xD

Wolfeur11/12/2018, 3:55:08 PM6 votes

Do you have any idea how complicated something as simple as that can be? There is a lot of back-end work that has to be done. And no, the fanciness of the button does not change that.

I've played this on the new alienware 17 with the I9 processor and this shit still happens.

It would be great if we get a legitimate answer for this question. And I hope I wouldn't be getting "it's a unique design feature" as an answer which is as cliche as it sounds.

Riot, multi-billionaire corporation, when asked to fix their low-spec game:

and when someone declines just instantly return for queue you don't need to wait for everyone else to accept then return to queue

Gotta love these types of posts when the user doesn't know what it takes to make a game like LoL.

In short, the old client was better, across the board.

The old client was way better to be honest...

There's a client somewhere in this bug we use to play.

Tonyo011/12/2018, 7:41:42 PM1 votes

Quite frankly I get both of those problems the glitchy accept button and the ban phase countdown time where u gotta spam where the ban is suppose to be. Oh right there's that auto decline function. Anyone getting that?

jamaal charles11/12/2018, 9:53:26 PM1 votes

every other game have small bugs like this like when i played csgo sometimes i would go into a competitive match and it will kick me out saying that its full so maybe its not as simple as you think. most league bugs can be fixed by force quitting and then reconnecting so you dont need to take a dodge penalty. also whenever people complain about them adding skins instead of fixing some problem i face palm a little. you do realize that the people working on the skins are not the same people that code the game right.
