The thing about yasuo's banrate

First up: I don't wanna argue if yasuo is op or not.

I main midlane and at the moment I ban yasuo every game. Is he op? Imo he is pretty strong! Is he annoying? Yes he is! But to be honest I'd rather want to play against a yasuo main than someone who is very good at But why do I still ban yasuo? It's because if I ban yasuo the chance of me banning out one of my opponents most favourite champion is much higher. If i ban fizz lb zoe or vlad, it's like a 90% chance that this ban doesn't bother the enemy team cause they wouldn't have picked this champion anyways. But if I ban yasuo chances are pretty high, that i banned the enemy mid- or toplaner's best champion.

Probably I'm not the only one who bans yasuo for this reason. That's why I suggest that we all should be more careful when we argue about yasuo and use his banrate to complement our arguments.

I ban Yasuos to never see them in game and to force them to dodge if they are on my team.

I always ban Yasuo. Never had a good one on my team, never had a bad one on the enemies. But the problem is, even if yasuo does feed, just purely because of who he is, he needs one team fight up to become relevant again.

Zoe and Leblanc have higher playrates than Yasuo, so banning one of them has a higher chance of taking it from the enemy team. Also Vlad's pickrate is basically equal to Yasuo's.

Why? The actual champion Fizz is weaker than Yasuo because Yasuo's outplay ability is much higher lol.

I ban Yasuo so i avoid the fking "0-10 my job here is done" Yasuo main in my team.

I always ban Yasuo. Hate getting a bad Yasuo on my team. Hate playing against a good Yasuo. Yasuo IMO is poorly designed. He has no resources. His shield is powered by just moving. His Q is oppressive as fuck for a melee character. He doubles any crit stat. He can shut down entire projectile ults with a windwall that has a <30 second CD. He also has ridiculous mobility when surrounded by minions, when most champions would experience creep block. His ult makes him immune to turret damage and grants him bonus crit damage AFTER it's duration(!).

His only downside is his high skill cap and can't take a lot of damage, but even those weakness are compensated for by his sheer amount of advantages. He's basically a machine that has more output than input, which shouldn't fucking be possible. You can't justify him as a champion, it's like playing as a god damn Mary Sue.

I don't have a problem with any other champion, except Yasuo. Even Zoe is reliant on her jukes, mana, and skill shots, but Yasuo just has low cooldowns, no resources, and is only countered by champions that can lock him down. CC shouldn't be the only weakness a champion should have. Even Zed and Master Yi have clear windows on when they're vulnerable, but all Yasuo has to do is Q 3 times, E in unpredictable motions, use a wall to block any non-beam skill, and his ult gets him away scot-free.

He's an abomination, and yea, fuck you if you declare him while on my team. He's getting banned. If you feel so strongly about it, I'll declare another champion I want banned when you "revenge" ban my declared pick.

Fuck Yasuo.

What annoys me is when your adc Vayne bans Yasuo instead of Caitlyn or your autofill support does the same thing in normal. Yes it's normal but geez it's like I'm top and I choose to ban janna/sona. I just don't see a point of making irrelevant bans. ._.

Exactly, that's also why his pickrate is high most of the time. It's not that he is always overpowered, it's just the fact that he is extremely fun to play so a lot of people main him.

It sucks because I actually enjoy playing yasuo when I get him in ARAM, not because of his wind wall, but because his kit outside of his W is actually really fun to play with and against. If I played a role that faced yasuo though i would probably ban them every time, because that champion's W is pure cancer. Playing around a 20 second cd for the entire duration of a match is not fun. It's easy to say 'wait the wind wall out' okay but who's going to use what ability to bait it out right? Never mind the fact that until he does use it, you can't use your kit for fear of him using his W. This means that while the W only effectively blocks projectiles for 3 seconds, it also blocks a lot of otherwise opportune moments before its use just because it wasn't used. If I'm Orianna and I see a 4 man Ulti, I [i]can't[/i] use my Q > R because yasuo's W is still off cd.

As a ranged champion the entire game becomes warped entirely around his W. If his W on cd you get to play the actual game, if its off cd then you don't and if its currently being used then you have to reposition / just flat out not do anything if you can't get a better position.

It isn't fun. It isn't exciting. It's cancer. I don't feel good beating a yasuo and I feel even worse losing to one.

I genuinely believe most people are not using this logic and simply dislike his design and gameplay. He's a mage-countering assassin in the midlane, most mages do not go well against him and that's reason enough for them. Not to mention experienced Yasuo players are a cut above the rest when it comes to using his kit to its full potential.

Yasuo mains do seem more volatile on account of everyone judging them for playing him, but most I've seen had some "secret OP pick" for when someone banned "such a trash champion."

Flipside: I main Yasuo and have a 53% winrate on him, but I also play a fair amount of Vel'koz and have a 64% winrate on him. Ban Yasuo at your peril.
