How much BE (blue essence)/rewards did you end up with after your first game in Season 8?

I ended up with about 230,000 blue essence (30k of which I spammed on summoner icons lol)...a handful of epic skin shards, and some other stuff. I've been playing since season 3.

I've been in since season 2 and ended up with over 310,000k.

160k+ BE. Not spent any yet. Eyeing up Urfwick, but may just get some vanity items (icons, chromas, ward skin, etc) and save the rest.

I would suggest going with the WW skin...it's been confirmed that emotes and icons will make an appearance at least once a year..nothing was said about the skin..so I'm thinking that WON'T be coming back yearly.

Urfwick is Exclusive to the store, so he'll return in the future, we just dunno how often (like if it's everytime the store returns or not)

It's under heavy consideration. He's not a champion I play a lot of and I have Grey WW back from the refer a friend program. I'm just loathe to spend such a chunk of my savings into 1 skin i'll rarely use for the sake of it's awesomeness and rarity. But he keeps taunting me, so we'll see.

Don't waste it on Urfwick. I'd actually only say it'd be fine if you have over 300K, as you'll be wanting the IP way later down the line, as IP will become harder and will take much, much longer to get.

Part of why it's still me mulling over it. I own over half the champion pool since I started playing in season 3. It was getting harder to find champions worth buying that I actually might play beyond potential new champion releases. I'm an overthinker and methodical. I'll probably debate it with myself until close to when the shop closes.

Speaking of, have they mentioned how long the BE shop will be around? All preseason or less?

It takes time for skins to accrue value, you know? Like when UFO Corki was released, I'm sure no one gave more fucks about it than they would any other typical new skin. Only years later has it become a prized possession. When people who know about skins see UFO corki, we know we're dealing with a true vet of the game. People in the know see it and are like "damn, UFO corki, haven't seen that skin in years..." like it's actually a moment for us, ya know?

...BUT assuming there IS NO yearly appearance for Urfwick, I'm still not confident that it can earn that same revere, even after some years (specifically because it's available at this very moment)...but it could. That's the risk of investing in something when it's value comes purely from it's rarity. People could give a fuck in the future...in which case it was worth it. Cause that's the point - to earn people's admiration, braggin rights, exclusivity, etc. lol but if people don't give a fuck...then it wasn't worth it...cause you end up with an ugly skin that only you care about (which isn't a problem if you value it beyond it's rarity). So it really comes to down to why you want to get it.

If you want the skin based on it's rarity, it's like a 50/50 risk investment in which you MIGHT see the return in a couple years, when people see you in loading screen like "damn, Urfwick...haven't seen that skin in a while" - but if you want the skin cause you like WW or whatever, then there is no risk, cause you're getting it for yourself regardless of it's rarity, value, or what other people think.

Until BE shop it was fairly rare in the community. I only know personally a handful of owners, and rarely see it in general, but i'm by no means a collector. I adore Urf/poro anything, and have bought skins based on both over the years. Only reason I ever learned Sej was her Poro skin, lol. Not that she's not a great champion, but i'll admit i've used money invested into skins as a good motivator to learn champions.

With Urfwick, i've admired the skin for years now since it was the first and started it all. (Poor Urf being devoured by that mean ol' wolf!) The opportunity to have it, albeit the second version, is one worth considering personally for me. I just wish Riot had heard the community's concerns and lowered the price at all. One of the Rioters at one point said he would talk to the people in charge of that department since people were so vocal. But oh well.

Point is, my reasons are based on me, not on the community. It's just whether or not I want to go near bankrupt to do it. Wish they'd just outright say if it was coming back, but Riot is so indecisive on things the last couple of years.
