I feel like fixing the death recap was a waste of time and energy.

Honestly I'd have been fine with just removing it. It doesn't add anything to the game other than telling me if I was ignited (because I sometimes don't notice it) and there are much more important things Riot could have worked on instead. The fixed death recap doesn't make me want to play more games. You know what would make me want to play more? Custom announcers. Not even something hard for Riot to do. Just different people to listen to than the boring one we have permanently.

If you like conspiracies, a fun thing to think about is that its pretty coincidental that they FINALLY updated the death recap a bit before releasing new cosmetics that will go onto them that you can't turn off.

But in all seriousness i think they're (albeit slowly) going through parts of the game that are completely outdated and just making them look better.

The people who worked on death recap are not the same people that write voice scripts. They don't have to give up one for the other they just think people don't want announcer packs for some reason?

there are different deparments tho? it was never a choice on "Okay, either we rework the death recap, or we're making announcer packs", death recap is a pretty basic feature, if you dont use it, your loss, it gives good info on what you should build against, (or what you cant build against because there's so much true damage), but the info is more important to most players than a custom announcer.

I can actually see what 7 sources of damage from Qiyana killed me, tyvm.

New death recap is far more “useful” in damage breakdown. Now, if I had more defensive options in store, that would be great

hard disagree. the only reason why i don't always check the death recap is because I know it's a total waste of time. I am extremely glad they are fixing it, even though it's only because of the money.
