I think his post flew way over your head... he made a tiny mistake(one extra syllable) but his complaint about writing a haiku was a haiku itself.

Technically, while the Western idea of a Haiku consists of the traditional 5,7,5 syllable approach, traditional Japanese haiku's (the origin, if I'm not mistaken) actually don't have any exact or measurable syllable count, and instead count 5,7,5 moras (which are very similar to syllables, but technically not the same, and are instead based on the weight and length of words instead of pronunciation of vowel sounds). The Haiku doesn't HAVE to follow the 5,7,5 word syllable count, and as such his was as good as any other Haiku in here (structurally speaking, anyways).
