Loot boxes are morally wrong and any company who implements them are sadists who enjoy abusing kids.

And adults. No exceptions. You are manipulating people into wasting large sums of money on the off chance they can get a special version skin or tft legend. you have to spend over 50 dollars THREE times MORE THAN 50 that's MORE THAN 150 for a total of 165 dollars to get a prestige skin. Yes it is optional, it is just a cosmetic but it is a 165 dollar cosmetic. That is the minimum you can spend to get a prestige skin. Not a joke. On top of that you also get 30 loot boxes. A literal not figurative gambling mechanic IN A CHILDREN'S game (rated teen) you put money in, in the hopes of getting a prize. It is literally like those stupid egg machines. Gachapons. Normally that would only matter if you are into that skin. For anything else you can just specifically buy the skin. So you might think meh who cares. Till you talk about tft. Anyone who enjoys this mode is guaranteed to have waste money on loot boxes if they don't like the generic options or really really want a specific thing. The loot boxes for tft don't even guarantee a specific theme you can get one of three species. on top of one of three species you ALSO have to deal with one of MANY variations so you might not even like the specific variation you get on the RARE chance you get the species you want. In your insanely expensive loot box.

This wouldn't be a big deal if it only cost 100 riot points to get a loot box. With 1 out of EIGHTEEN odds of getting what you want. Oh and you need to get it 3 times. Again yes its optional but if you enjoy a mode you want to have something that enhances that. If you don't have a bajillion dollars you're out of luck tho. So instead of wasting 170 assuming the thing i actually want is the last thing i get which it has the same odds of being as everything i don't want. I dont want every little legend. I want specific varieties. So you get NOTHING instead of something.

Never gonna understand the idiocy of depending one the people who would buy everything anyways (the whales) if you just listed them. Instead you manipulate people multiple times hoping they don't give up till they get the thing they want. Hopefully three times. Cause then you make more money. Abusing children and vulnerable adults. You are scum and the government is coming for you. They absolutely should force every company to implement a refund for loot boxes or ban you from operating on US soil. That's a big market to lose. You deserve to lose that for trying to manipulate people. Monsters.

You do know that you don't need to spend 165 dollars for a prestige skin You can easily get it for 10 dollars

There are a lot of things that are morally wrong in the world. Every ad is a morally wrong trick to force you into spending money on something overpriced that you probably don't need. Its not about who does that and who does not, everyone does it now. People have to learn to think for themselves how much are they ready to pay for whatever thing. If you think riot should be banned for tricking people, every other gaming company should be banned too.

Honestly... I'm not terribly bothered by how Riot implemented lootboxes here, (Prestige, and Gemstone skins being some nitpicks). Mainly because Riot also gives one a choice to buy most any skin you want directly. The lootboxes here are optional and have no barring on ones ability to play the game, be it Summoners Rift or ARAM. And Riot has also given the ability to earn boxes FOR FREE by earning a S- or higher on champions you own, mind you Riot did not have to do this, nor allow us to participate in the ticketed events for free.

As for the whole argument of "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" is just you using children to bully a company to do what you want, and in my honest opinion makes you look rather weak. So, in conclusion, shut up and accept the fact that League of Legends will have lootboxes in it, and keep the damn government out of the video game industry.
