My biggest issues with assassins is that you can be controlling lane pretty well until lvl 6. Then it simply feels like insta death from most with very little counterplay. Zed being the most notorious out of all of these as he actually is one of the only assassins with a strong pre 6.

Katarina for example, if you blew your Hard CC and can't possibly counter her Ultimate, you probably deserve to at least be chunked to hell for misplaying against her.
Akali on the other hand borders closer to BS.

I actually find Katarina to be one of the healthiest assassins in the game. She has clear moments of strength and weakness. Honestly the issue with Riot and assassins is they try to make them extremely flashy to make LCS BIG PLAYS. Flashy plays aren't always healthy for high burst champions as they tend to allow for the user to have extremely low skill compared to the lane opponent.

But when I hit lv 6 my midlane opponent is usually at ~ 1/2 health or already have died to me. And in that case then absolutely. If my combo can't deal half their health bar in damage or I can't kill them with a kill advantage then I am either a bad assassin or they are playing AP Tristana.

I agree that at half hp they should die unless they somehow outplay. 85%+ though without jungle assistance though :/

DrNova1 votesIf you are really doing well in lane, then you should have an advantage and should be able to handle (certain matchups aside)
If your just not losing lane, well, thats what an assasin does. If things stay even steven they are going to have the advantage at six, often, simply because they do what they do.
Build items with more defence earlier VS assasins, dont just rush all damage items. Assasins are usually squishy enough you can afford to throw some defencive items in the mix

I've played Zed, Fizz, Akali, AP Trist, Kha'Zix, even Talon. At lvl 6 I couldn't 100-0 any champ 1v1, even building for full damage. Now, if they are half health, they are dead, that's the nature of an assassin. But the only time I 100-0 someone is if I'm ahead by a level or two and a full item ahead.
