Why the hell is the pick order for the roles random

It's just nonsense that one team can have top and mid as first picks with no ban while the other has them at the bottom with bans and counterpick. And before anyone says, well derp why don't you just ask your team to pick for you, not counting the fact that this is ranked and is filled with degenerates, it costs more than 400k ip to own all the champs. I personally own the 450 champs and the champs I actually play and I don't even have tier 3 runes, so am i just suppose to just go fuck myself?

It's random because consistent elements of the game can lead to knowledgeable exploitation. For instance if Top is always at the top of the list, then whichever side did not get first pick will immediately counterpick the first pick. This is not good. Additionally, if someone is playing off meta or playing a weird comp, and you know where the pick is supposed to be due to a set order, this can give you game advantage as you can exploit a potential troll pick. Having a locked pick order is not good in any sense. It just offers too much counterplay options which will return the game to "I lost the match at champ select."

Assume it is a set order (with everyone getting 10 bans the ban part wouldn't matter). People who don't trade would be at a worse disadvantage than they are now, since they'd be counterpicked if they were on the wrong side of the map and they'd be counterpicked by any duo that wants to trade.

It's good practice to choose a safe pick or a comfort pick if you're picking blindly, although most people just spam out whatever champ they want, countered or not.
