Hashinshin (and old Dunkey!?) on League of Legends

The Highest Noon··2 votes·2,139 views

Huh. Quite a lot to process, from toxicity to itemization to the state of the game.

**Your thoughts? **

On toxicity specifically, I agree that banning someone for what they say to some players such as feeders, afkers, and otherwise initially toxic players is a terrible practice. You cannot have a punishment system that disregards how humans naturally respond to aggressors. On how champions build tho I don't think that it's such a copy+paste game. Sure maybe half the items you build on champions from certain roles will be the same, but there will always be that other half that relies on how that champion plays or what synergizes with them.

Nah. You're toxic, you get banned, it doesn't matter if you're the aggressor or you're "defending yourself". Dunkey getting banned from league has been the best thing for league and for his videos.

But the reason Hashinshum watching this video was he was making a point on how Dunkey understood how each phase of the game works out. But nice try missing the point.

Missing the point? Sure. Point to that part of me missing the point and I'll correct you. :D

I see. Make an unsupported claim then carry on with your life. Sounds like boards to me.

I take nothing hashinshin says seriously.

I will never waste my time watching more of his ignorance.

Well, he's shown himself time and time again to have no idea what he's talking about, blames his jungler for his own mistakes, blames Riot for him losing on the strongest champion in the game, and can't even tell the difference between a juggernaut and a tank.

At this point, he's proven himself to be a completely unreliable source of information or analysis. Why should we trust him if he's consistently wrong?

Why shouldn't you trust a broken clock when it's 100% correct two times a day?

You shouldn't let your opinion of him lead you to assumptions. You know what they say about assumptions, right? I don't, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with ass.

Because a broken clock is still wrong the other 23 hours and 58 minutes of the day (59 minutes if it's a 24 hour clock, even less if it measures to the second), and since you'll never know when it is right, it's useless the entire day.

A "broken clock" is therefore the perfect analogy for him, then. Sure, he's occasionally right, but the times he's right are so hard to find because of all the times he's wrong, and he never changes what he says anyways, making him coincidentally right (Jax may happen to be weak at the time, or tanks might happen to be too strong, but he's not saying what he's saying because of that, he's just been saying that the entire time, just like the clock kept saying it's 10:27, and it eventually did become 10:27, but it'll eventually become 10:28, and the clock will keep saying it's 10:27), so you can never actually know when he's right or wrong.

But see, that's just it. It's STILL RIGHT twice. It's still 100% correct, irrefutably. Besides that, what do you mean "you'll never know?" You have more than one clock, don't you? You have something to compare it to, so you WILL know when it's right. Just like Hashinshin, he isn't the only player of this game who holds his opinions. Some of what he says is constantly echoed throughout the League community.

If you admit that he's occasionally right, who are you to say you don't trust him nor his opinions 100% of the time, if he is in your own words occasionally right?

Prejudice is never a good sign.

Why should I ever trust something that is wrong most of the time? Sorry but if you want to keep a broken clock in your house because "it's right twice a day" instead of ditching that thing for one that actually works then good for you. I will get rid of that thing as soon as possible and get a working one. There is no reason to listen to hashinshin ever. Even when he is right. Since I can just listen to way more reliable sources that won't instantly be wrong in a week or two

Why trust anyone if you know that they're wrong even if just once? Are you saying that there are people who you trust 100% without doing your own research? That's a dangerous amount of prejudice, tbh.

If you're just gonna say "I don't like this person so I don't care about their opinion" then you're just being the type of player that Riot doesn't really respect in terms of opinion. It does not matter what you think of a person, it matters whether or not what they're saying is substantial. That's all that matters, not his frequency of being "right" nor your prejudice of that person. And if Hashinshin is right, his opinion should both be heard and respected.

Hell, his opinion should be heard and respected regardless until it can be proved entirely incorrect.

I don't care about whether or not they are 100% correct but I am not going to listen to someone who is correct about 5-10% of the time. Sorry but that is just a waste of time. You want to listen to him? go ahead, I sure won't. Sorry but once again, I will dispose of the broken clock for something that is actually useful rather than keep a clock that is wrong the vast majority of the time. If he is right? good for him! I don't care and I don't respect him at all since I know he will just be wrong again instantly. That is like saying "hey this dude has been saying that Y building is going to explode every single day for 20 years. It finally exploded so we should respect him and hear him!" or "this guy is saying the world is ending we should hear him just in case the world is truly ending!"

You want to listen to what Hashinshin says? nobody is stopping you, but the people who are sick and tired and hearing him say the exact same thing every single time and being wrong pretty much the vast majority of the time are literally done with him. You can only be wrong so often before people stop caring about what you say. It does matter what every single person thinks about whoever is talking. If I don't trust him why should I care for whatever thing he says? even if he is right the most he would get from me is "huh... ok" and that's it. Now unless you have something else to say that isn't "we should listen to people who are wrong most of the time!" do not bother replying. This isn't "sunshine and rainbows the world!" this is reality

Nothing does. Because those are irrelevant numbers, considering you're so prejudiced that you don't even bother to do your own research.

lol, what?

24 hours in a day * 60 minutes in an hour = 1,440 minutes per day. A broken clock is right 2/1,440 minutes Therefore, a broken clock is right 0.14% of the time.

Why would you trust something that's only right 0.14% of the time?

As with all things in life, it's not worth it to investigate every claim people make. You give them a chance, and you investigate a few, then you determine what biases they have and where they're OK. If they're wrong more often than they're right, or they tell 3 lies for every 1 truth, you don't pay them attention because they're not worth your time.

With YouTube videos, there's the additional problem of generating publicity for creators who specialize in deceit and getting recommendations similar to them.

That...in no way shapes a valid point. So, it's ok to take things people say at face value? That's stupid. Either I look into it myself or I just don't care. There is no "They're probably right."

It's not a matter of trusting anything 100% of the time. It's a matter of distrusting something most of the time, and not wanting to bother with the effort to see if this particular instance they were right.

I emphasized this part because it's exactly the position you're running into. Many people here "just don't care," so they're not bothering to click on the video.

And yes, you do take things as "they're probably right" all the time in your life. You'd be dead from exhaustion if you double checked everything people told you. Sure, the sign says $2.49/gallon of gas, but does the pump? Sure, the pump said $2.49/gallon of gas, but did I get that many gallons and was I charged the same amount as shown on the pump? At some point "I just don't care" == "they're probably right".

Then, what is the argument here? Because it seems like you're just circle-talking. Whether you trust or distrust, you should be donig your own information gathering and forming your own personal opinion based on your own experiences. You cannot argue against opinions as if they're facts, because they're not. They're perspective.

I emphasized this part because it's exactly the position you're running into. Many people here "just don't care," so they're not bothering to click on the video.

So if they're not evaluating what's said based on the current state of the game they play and are just judging something based on prejudice...

And again, your prejudice is based on what? I just don't are means I don't fucking care. Not only that, but that literally proves my point that people should be doing their own work instead of basing their opinions on prejudice. You're making my arguments for me, dude.

If you're done, I'm kinda tired of this my-sided debate. You're a prejudiced, toxic person and tbh this conversation hasn't gone anywhere since you first proved that.
