holy shit garen is being banned

no...his mechanics are too simple for him to see competitive play. like...waaaaaaaaaaaaay to simple.

His spin now spins faster with rank ups, and you can't underestimate how powerful the villain mechanic can be in a match where people are actually skilled enough to take advantage of it.

The W change was mostly a buff. A 20% bonus on bonus MR and Armor only gets the advantage over 30 flat after you build 150 Armor and MR.

It really doesn't make that much sense from a numbers standpoint; since he didn't really change at all unless you're the villain (and even then, Villainy only really means anything if you built defenses to begin with; to most squishies he's would've still dealt very close to true damage to you with his ultimate anyway given that you naturally have very little MR).

If anything from a numeric standpoint; he's worse off than before since he lost quite a few things, notably he has a lower silence duration and lower MS boost duration, W no longer gives tenacity or the bonus armor / MR increase based on your current armor / MR, he also got some base stat nerfs as well.

Itemization changes probably have something to do with it I'd imagine (notably Dead Man's Plate, which Garen can use to great effect), but other than that I can't really think of anything

Edit: E does more damage now if you're alone; but if Garen is somehow catching you alone in the cluttered mess of a teamfight; thats your own fault for positioning improperly (or just not standing in your minions if its early on before he has ridiculous waveclear potential)

See, this is a great question and quite frankly, I want to know these answers too...

I mean, if Garen is building tank, the villain is likely to just get railed... causing him to have a source of income. THAT could lead to him being stronger nowadays...

But I always found him threatening when he build offense anyways, so... How?
