placement question

On my Oceania account, I've stuck with normal games for 5 years of LoL and NEVER played ranked games... just had this crazy idea to play some ranked games near this end of season.

I did badly on the placements - 3wins 5losses.

With your expert advice- 1) Should I play those 2 games with a day left in the season? Or 2) Should I 'dodge' and do the placements again after the Season resets?

I don't care for the Bronze Summoner Icon reward etc. But I really hope to get at least Silver placement. Negative experience in Bronze climb to Silver years ago left me with a phobia. :P This time most likely will land in Bronze due to this poor performance in placements.

Get placed. Your MMR gets a soft reset regardless if you're placed or not.

By soft reset, u mean I'll need to do another 10 placement games regardless?

yes. Everyone has to do 10 placements at the beginning of every season

But that means if I'm not ranked Bronze and remained unranked this season, it won't factor into my placement for the new season rite?

If the account has never been ranked before, you will more than likely get at least silver.

Even with the absolute worst possible result of 3wins 7losses? The risk of landing in Bronze is there right?

On the otherhand... if I redo placements and do better?

The mmr is already there my friend, i'm telling you from personal observations. My brother sucks balls at league and i'm not just being a dick, he legit sucks bronze 4 hard. He was placed silver 2. You might be able to check on op.gg for an estimated MMR.

I learnt not to trust mmr. I've been playing since beta for 5 years. My mmr on 3 accounts across 3 servers differs a lot. Just didn't wanna spend all that time to climb out of Bronze if there's a chance for redemption ;P or easier way to jump into Silver or better.

Like i said, theirs no avoid it. If you play or not your MMR is already there.

did you win the first couple of games? the first couple are the biggest determining factor for your final placement.

I'm not too sure... I think it's like 1W 1L... my mmr is 1090 currently- high chance of landing in Bronze I think in Oceania

Would it matter if I just 'dodge' and wait for the soft reset?

then you probably have a chance at getting in silver if you win the next 2, it's worth a shot, just have fun and don't stress out if you think you're going to lose.

Just not sure how it all works...

The amount of deviation for placements was reduced dramatically. You'll likely get Silver even at 3-7.

It would be the first ever placements on that account though. Guess I'll try.

Quoting Riot though - "If you’ve never played ranked, then your form in your placements will be all that matters!"

this was from last year's blog (section under Seeding)- http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/competitive/get-ready-2015-ranked-season
