People need to change their mindset.

This also counts for me.

Lately I was thinking. I often encounter trollers, feeders, afkers in my matches. This makes me tilt with rage and I lose my mind.

But why, really? Because I expect everyone to have the same goal as me? (Climbing & winning). I always try my best, never feed hard or troll. But that is me. I am not the entire player base. Just because I have this goal, doesn't mean others have this goal too.

People log in for many different reasons. Some simply don't care about their LP and try new champs in Ranked for the first time. I can let it tilt me, but what does that bring? I cannot change anything about it.

Also, since trolling is such a huge problem it seems like many people enjoy to do it for whatever reason. I think we should accept it and see it as part of the game.

Because let's be honest here. Someone can softly run it down and go 0/13 in 20 mins, spams emotes, so he tilts his teammates. Then their teammates might flame.

The teammates get a punishment because chat behavior. The troll does not get anything. We all know this. There have been many topics about it on here. It is just the way it is. Riot won't do anything about it, and I guess we need to learn to deal with it. Yes, it sucks, but we have no control over it.

I think we need to see it as an extra RNG/dice roll game when you hit "accept" in queue. You might get the troll, or the enemy might get the troll, or no one gets the troll (or both get them so then it's more equal again).

I have spend many hours raging behind my computer because someone "accidentily" dies 5 times in the first 10 mins while refusing to ward. I have smashed my keyboard. But I want to let that go. It is a game , overall. I think we should not let our emotional health get affected so much.

If you are stuck in an unwinnable troll game, let's say its 25-4 kills for the enemy( I get these matches weekly in my elo, honestly!) and the trolls obviously refuse to surrender then don't rage. It is what they want you to do. Just focus practicing your champ, turn off sound, put on some nice music and just let it slip by.

So...Uhh...Those hundreds of threads of people being banned for inting and complaining don't exist?

There are more people getting away with it. Or do you truly believe trollers get equally banned as flamers?

They don't get banned at the same rate due to there not being as many trolls as assholes, and because it's possible to actually automate a system to check for toxicity.

On ranked winning should be the ONLY goal. That means no trying new champs, no "trolling" unless you know, that it's efficient, or you don't really have a choice, and no afking/feeding.

For not having a choice on trolling i mean, that sometimes the meta of your champ is so damn countered, that you need to go off-meta to make it work. Happened with my friend who played Garen, and enemy brought a Yi, Vayne, and a Camille. With 3 tank destroyers building tank was foolish. So he built damage only + black cleaver. We won easily in the end with no tank in the team.

NORMALS are different. Sometimes on normal the primary goal is not winning. Trying out new champ, roles, builds. Winning is a bonus, but the primary goal is to try, or practice stuff you aren't good with it against live enemies.

I just go afk in the fountain in cases like that. No need to rage, no need to play an unwinnable game and even if it is somewhat winnable, I don't want to put in the effort cuz the game isn't enjoyable enought for me to try my hardest. It makes climbing hard because I only play 2-4 games a week but meh I don't care.

I used to believe that in Dota, "always keep in mind that my team will have at least 1 troll, how can I deal with it?" and I won so many games simply because Templar Assassin is and always will be broken. Counters? The fuck are those? In my prime, you could put anything against my TA and unless you went on me 2-3v1, I'd just crush you, and that 60%+ win rate in over 500 games does show I know what I'm talking about, but it's been years since then, I can still play her quite efficiently, but not at the same level.

But in LoL, things don't work like that most of the time. Due to how Dota is balanced for only the highest of skill levels, and that it actually allows solo carry IF your pick is capable of it AND you manage to outplay the enemy team's win condition, so you only need to be slightly better than the enemy team to have a moderate advantage, but in LoL, that doesn't work.

We all (hopefully) can remember the Diamond Volibear guy with over 60% wr in D+ but barely winning games in Gold because playing for the team won't work. Then coupled with the fact that Riot balances for casuals as well (DUMBEST POSSIBLE THING IN A COMPETITIVE MOBA), means that many late-game champs are oppressive from the get go (looking at you Jax, Vayne and others) if the one playing them has one extra brain cell of skill compared to their opponent, couple with the damage meta we have AND the fact that Riot keeps focusing on "you should be able to solo carry some games, but the main aspect is team play", you need to be vastly superior than your opponents to have the same impact you'd have in Dota by just being slightly better.

My most favorite game in Dota? Mid was trolling, well, the player on mid, as normally, I would've been mid, but guy picks Storm Spirit, goes mid, so I'm forced to go solo against Crystal Maiden and Juggernaut, a level 1 hard kill lane, so I died as first blood, nothing I could've done, by 10 mins, we're 1-15, I get a revenge kill on Juggernaut, Storm was basically inting, Drow Ranger was bad, support...."what are wards?" (really, he did ask that) and the last, farming the jungle AFK feeding all game. And we won, I ended like 33-2-7 or something like that by abusing the overconfidence the enemy team had, and killing the CM first thing, can't let that thing live before a team fight (by that, I mean 1v5's, I had no team, Drow was the most useful one, but she'd die first for the same reason I was killing CM first), got asked by the enemy team if I'm smurfing while Storm was flaming me for "ksing him so much", and had a lot of games where the enemy was flaming me for smurfing, some even saying that I'm too good for them, and even had 1 of my Rampages (Dota's Pentakills) on TA be a straight up 1v5 where my team was simply "the fuck are you?", I just knew who to execute first and how to set up my cooldowns.

But you can't do that in LoL because if you get hit by 1 CC when your team is 1-15 at 10 mins, you're done, no matter if you're a tank or not. Unless you're hugely above your the rank where you play, you just can't solo carry most of the time. When I play Akali, I get hard camped, as in, the enemy jungler forgets there are 3 lanes, not just 1, and if they aren't dumb or my jungler is jerking in a bush, there's nothing I can do, and a huge part of that is the surrender mechanic, why try when you can just give up and go next? Oh how many games that we could've won have I lost simply because people just gave up and surrendered.

Changing the mentality won't really help, yea, it's keeps you calmer, but ain't helping ya win that much more, the "look what you could've done better yourself instead of blaming your team" is a lot of Hecarim Shaco, when the enemy jg is 10-0 at 15 mins, while your Kha starts Machete and goes at blue, you're done, flaming everyone for feeding when he's 0-4-0, there's no winning that. Having unwinnable games once in a while all ok, understandable, you can't win 'em all, but just accepting that "every troll in your team is an unwinnable game" is not acceptable.

In a way, I agree as my own tilt is something I am trying to work on. Sometimes you just have to accept that there is nothing you can do or say to make a troll play seriously or for a flamer to calm down, and that point the goal is not to win as it is to do what you can to enjoy the rest of the game so you don't get stuck in low priority hell. Mute the trolls and flamers, and just play it out.

However, I will argue that preventing these scenarios from recuring through suspensions and bans would be ideal. To me, having an automated leaver buster system in place but not something for flamers or inters is puzzling, especially when, if you have anger issues anyhow, you get punished for 'walking away and calming down'.
