These are pretty dark times for Riot's balance team, agreed.

There are players that like more than just a champion's kit power and will always play him. They find ways to play that work for them and sadly they're the ones that suffer most out of these changes. He was nerfed hard because of his flex pick status in LCS, his win rate was average before the nerf. The annoying thing is that those who would use him, sometimes do well and scream about how he needs to be nerfed are the quickest to move onto the next champion that is considered OP.

Kass's win rate is dropping so hard because people are over extending hard on kass because they are not used to the ult range. Give it a few weeks to balance out and we will see where it actually belongs.

lolk you dont even know when a champ is gutted or not LLLLOL

They didn't touch his damage at all...... He can still burst but requires a lot safer play. He still has mobility just not as much. Do I think the nerf was too harsh? yes did he need a nerf? yes. People just don't want to play safe on a champ they used to be able to make countless errors on and still escape.

gutted range is worse than nerfing damage. We can make double distortion have only 500 range and leblanc will instantly become trash tier. Do you even know what ur talking??? just stop pls

When even riot employees commentating on games are saying that this is last week for kassadin in the LCS because of nerf you know its bad lol.

also how long has it been that Azir has been trash tier before they finally realized it was a mistake that they olafed him. God knows how long it will take for a Kass fix. But better Buff Nidallee PBE patch 5.5 rito plz

I'm angry about the changes as a Kassadin main since it basically made it impossible to use his ult aggressively; I have to play like a ranged champion because I can't depend on landing the ult.

He needed nerfs to his Q, not to his ult.

Incorrect they didn't touch his damage this patch. He's had 7 nerfs since season 4. Including a nerf too his ratios too from .7 to .6 they also lowered his damage on q the previous patch and raised the cd's on his W while also lowering the mana regen. The main problem with riot nerfs is that they just keep going until they gut a champion while never giving back from the nerfs that "didn't work".

HA. That's what they said about Azir.

Azir "Give it a few weeks they said." Azir "Your winrate will balance they said."

Kass, Zilean, and Veigar is a repeat of Azir and it's even sadder that Veigar and Zilean was meant to be balanced out. Who remembers the Cassiopeia rework?

Anomander1 votes

And because he didn't rebound they are now gonna give him a slight buff in 5.5

Fauxfire1 votes

Good guy Riot, giving Azir some range back. Azir has and will always be one of the hardest mage/champion to master. So, beating all of the power out of Azir, whom sits at constant below 50% winrate, then reventing it slightly doesn't fix the real balance-issue-big-picture. There's more that needs to be done for Azir.

remember when this happend to azir and his win rate rebounded...oh wait a second....

the weeb is too happy about his sona skin leave him alone

Anomander1 votes

OMG it has been like a whole 5 days OMG OMG OMG OMG he will never rebound. Give it time. ALso Azir is getting a slight buff in 5.5 to help balance him a bit more. Kass was only a nerf to his mobility nothing more and this really only affects how far you can extend.

I've had to completely adjust how I play him and quite a few times I've died trying to Rift Walk Limp over a wall just to faceplant into it. No longer can I use his ult to be aggressive in lane unless I'm 100% positive the enemy has no cc left otherwise I'm a sitting duck. The same thing is I adjusted the build to have more pure damage but I mixed it with AP and AD. I've managed to do a fair bit damage in trades but having only a 1 second slow AND a crippled ult means I can't get in range to melee unless I was already on top of them.

"It's not been that long, give it time!"

No. Anyone that played him knows he has been crushed and will struggle for a long time. If Riot want him to be a short range they need to completely change his kit. If they want him to be the anti-mage assassin they need to tweak a lot but neither of those was done. It's just been a systematic series of nerfs and more nerfs.

They didn't touch his damage at all

That's a joke right? Right?? The previous patch they took 10 damage off his Q. "Ooh 10 damage, big deal!" Considering it was used early to help cs against aggressive lanes it is a big deal. However, it isn't just that. They didn't touch his damage while nerfing his ult THIS patch. That's because they already dumpstered it in the previous 6 or 7 nerfs. If they hit his damage any more (it'll probably happen in a few patches anyway) he'll start to do damage to himself.

I am kind of hoping that relegating Kassadin to trash tier was the point of the nerf seeing as how that was the result that everyone predicted. Question now is whether Kassadin gets a Goldilocks range buff to his ult, or whether he has joined Ryze in the 'awaiting rework while being kept weak for the good of the game' pile of champs.
