Post-Vlad Rework Builds. Opinions?

item 3116 item 3089 item 3065 will be core. Rylai's is practically necessary to function still, while Deathcap pushes his Q, both healing and damage, farther than any other single item. This is important because AP is horribly slot-inefficient on him now. His ratios were gutted with this update. Spirit Visage provides the functions of a defensive/offensive/sustain buy now. Its too good not to get, unlike before when abyssal was far better on him.

item 3742 item 3143 item 3083 will be the situational items. Both of the armor/hp options provide better maneuverability in fights, so long as you don't auto attack late game with DMP. Warmog's allows you to push without killing yourself, as well as do a better job at staying healthy as a front-liner (which he is much more of now); also 10% CDR now. Do note that HP has better damage scaling on him now than AP. Again, AP is horribly inefficient to dedicate yourself towards now.

item 3157 item 3001 item 3135 item 3053 item 3190 will be extremely situational buys. They are not efficient purchases on him now, but do have situations that they perform very strongly in.

Note that Zhonya's is no longer core. The AP dropping significantly, not offering HP that he needs now, and the active not meshing with his new kit's pattern all work against it. Plus significantly longer CD on the active.

Void is no longer core either, due to AP being so inefficient on him now. If enemies are buying MR, yes, it becomes a very good damage item. However, often times, the survivability+damage via a tank item will do more for you. It won't be a 3rd slot damage item anymore at the very least. Pretty much going to be used when everyone is stacking MR as opposed to all of the time.

A 10-30% CDR rune page will be used on him, depending on the enemy team. Likely 10-20% most of the time, but I'd rather stick with Swifties, Mercs, Tabi, Sorc, etc so 30% for me. Swifties+Stormraider's Surge OP.

right now building hp favors him more than raw ap. and this should not be the case. be ready for some numbers change when he hits live (or even before, actually; even riot isn't sure about him atm check the pbe forums)

right now his e deals a lot of damage but his sustain is garbage

Who knows if they'll actually change that though. They wanted HP to be a much better buy on him, and now it is.

Even if they up the ratios, it will only push my suggested build further, as the E AP ratio will likely not go up.

Agreed that his sustain is pretty poor atm. The most I want atm is for Blood Rush to be increased to a 3 second window simply due to pool duration and not being able to cancel it early unless you have an E charging.

I could see item 3001 being a rush item for him if his sustain gets a boost. It will give him more damage in trades since he is relatively short distance (comparatively for mages) while giving him early defense stats.

If he functions better in mid, definitely a possibility. But that's a situational thing. Top lane will almost certainly be Rylai's rush game after game.

I am not sure if Deathcap is going to be that hot on him, tbh.

Rather, I could imagine Rylai's/Abyssal/Zhonya's/Visage/Liandry's, with either Sorc (if running 10% CdR in runes) or Ionian boots.

Pure AP builds are highly inefficient on him. His E is near-useless without significant HP.

Deathcap is going to be a buy because you want to use as few slots as possible for AP.

Rylai's will be core, and Deathcap along with that is the single strongest way to boost your Q without dedicating another slot to it.

If you go all AP, your E is weak. If you don't go Deathcap, your Q and its sustain are far too weak to keep up with your E cost.

Honestly, HP seems slightly subpar now after his new E. CDR heavy builds for the same reason. Even if he gains damage better with HP scalings, the overall cost from his E, and the lack of sustain from spellvamp seems risky.

Zhyonas is probably going to become core again. CDR + AP. Even with the worse AP/Active, the cost reduction was nice. It's going to be interesting where Satshu, I believe, is going to buff him. His E needs something to make him viable. A lesser cost, or some wave clear potential back.

I do not believe Zhonya's will be core on him.

It offers low AP. New kit made AP less efficient, new Zhonya's has even less AP and no HP to fuel his E.

There are plenty of ways to make up for the 10% CDR on it now. It is in no way must-buy with the new kit. Especially since the active doesn't suit his modified playstyle anywhere close to how it fit the old one.

Nerfed active, again, is another significant blow against it.

All-in-all, its an extremely slot-inefficient buy, which is the exact opposite of what the new Vlad requires. You'd be buying it almost entirely for the active, which is worse with the new kit, along with it being nerfed.
