Ironically auto-fill, a system designed to shorten queue times by disregarding role selection, has in fact increased queue times because people dodge due to auto-fill disregarding role selection...

but in old ranked people would get stuck with supp anyways so its litterally the exact same now as before only you select your roles before the in game screen.

Dynamic/Flex are not the same as Role Select.

As it stands, either Flex (multiple ranked queues) or Role Select has to go.

Considering there are constant dodges due to auto-fill now, queue times have gone up drastically on average.

Most people would rather lose Flex than Role Select from what I've gathered.

Had a Gnar bitch at me yesterday for my "Poor play" on shyvana and being useless because all I did was split push. I, did, however secure 6 drags in 30minutes and gotten 2 inhibs. He then asked for my rank because I'm bad and ranks determines everything.

I then refused to give him it and told him he is in no position to talk to me about how I'm doing considering he isn't doing well himself. At that point I was 7-3 and he was 3-6. He then responded, and I quote, "It's just a normals, you act like I even care. I'm reading manga atm."

Like... I haven't said anything all game, and I got shit talked to for you to then tell me "Idc, it's just a normals". People in this game.

Or maybe buck up and play support one out of 10 games. Jesus people all you have to do is fill like twice and you never get autofilled. I've never been autofilled support. I fill a game, play my selected roles the next few games. Then I fill. It's pretty simple

Had this today as well. Our support priority got autofilled to mid when i had mid as secondary and top as primary. I mean was it really easier to find another support than another top or mid player???? We basically had two support mains. Rigged system. Thanks obama.

Do you have any proof of this? In my experience, when I get autofilled, I never dodge. I just play the role and get it over with, and do my best. Who's to say that in 9/10 of your games there's an autofill who simply doesn't dodge and you never knew about it? I know Boards is often full of bullshit, but you can't go around making claims without at least giving SOME evidence to support it.

No, with preseason 7 they stated that they would remove Flex if queue times were still too long and that Solo Queue was here to stay.

Read the bottom where it says "what if were wrong." It clearly states that they would remove flex queue ifnit doesnt work and keep solo queue.

I'm sorry, but I really don't like this attitude of "If it isn't initially working, kill it". Sure, you don't like Flex Que, but others do, so is trying to fix it for the people who do like it that bad a problem?

It seems rather rude to think that just because you don't enjoy it, others don't as well/others preferences shouldn't count in the matter.

I said I don't mind Flex Queue. Many others don't either.

But being forced into Auto-Fill because of it IS an issue to many players. There's no alternative. There's no opt-out. That's why people want Flex gone.

Flex gone=>more people being cycled into/out of the single queue=>higher chance of finding a support within a certain timeframe=>lower queue times=>no permanent auto-fill.

Yeah, the post is actually about how autofill was supposed to yeild shorter queue times, but ironically lengthened them through constant dodging, and is more or less a failure that should be addressed.

Yeah so many people like it that they have to permanently turn on a system that was supposed to be a temporary band-aid. It seems more selfish and rude that the couple of buddies who cant handle playing ranked alone are arguing to keep an already failing queue (that screwed up s6 ranked pretty bad) alive.

Because your fun is so much more important than others amiright? And it's evident it's not a couple of people who enjoy Flex queue, but the issue with auto-fill is simply the lack of supports. Fix that (no easy task), and I'm sure auto-fill becomes less of a problem.

People are just upset that their role isn't garenteed anymore, and instead of just learning how to play Support (a useful skill for everyone) they try to push the blame elsewhere.

Hell, you can communicate in lobby. Ask if anyone else would prefer Support, since you're not as good as it, and perhaps you do run into the Support player who got Mid or something, who knows. But people want to be quiet introverts, and then jump onto the boards to complain instead of finding their way around a slightly unfortunate situation

or possibly because we play the game to have fun, and having fun means being in the role we want. I would much rather have 5-10 mins of extra que time then go through 30-60 minute game of doing something I don't want to do.

and don't even get me started on autofill in ranked, forcing someone to play a role they're not good at is literally the stupidest thing you could do in a competitive setting.

Yup. Im upset that I dont get to play as much support anymore. You got me. Because it makes sense to put support as my primary, only to somehow be filled into the most popular role because the system is trying to make games fast, not accurate.

You could, I don't know, ASK if you could play support? If you didn't get support, maybe some poor auto-filled soul did, and they'd appreciate swapping. You're not restricted in swapping roles in champ select, as long as both parties agree.

The only problem I have with Autofill is when I get filled to support, and then the support main gets my main role (Mid/AD) and asks if they can support. That is actually fucking stupid and makes no sense.

With pick order, everyone knew they could get any role, so you had at least two champions in every role, and had some experience in every role. People knew what they were doing, and didn't lose you the game just for refusing to learn a role.

They had more experience with both the roles and the champions. People before level 30 were even taught by the community to have at least two champions in every role, and more in the role you wanted more.

Just like now, if you don't want to autofail, learn the roles and one or two champions.

Then again, in both systems you have bad people who refuse to do so, but now they have something to blame it on: Autofill

I want you to show me a fresh season 5 player with three rune pages with Diamond level experience with 10 champions in 5 different roles.

I also want to see that fresh season 5 player go mid and beat a diamond one trick Leblanc without MR, or health runes. Only flat armor.

Lul False. That "Mid or Feed" stuff happened in like 1 out of 50 games". I played 3k ranked games with that champ select and people were used to it. If you didn't get first pick, state your pref. People usually allowed others choose their main roles.

My question is, why are there no supports. If League has "100 million players" monthly, where are the supports? Lets assume that 5% of league players main supports and queue up for support. that leaves with 5 million players worldwide to play support, which in comparison is 1/3rd of the entire dota 2 playerbase, and in that game, I have no trouble finding supports, and dota 2 has 2 supports per team might I add. Now I'm going to ask again... WHERE ARE THESE SUPPORTS???

We are being autofilled into other roles after putting support primary, because the system is trying too hard to be fast, it just starts ignoring your primary 100% after a while.

Nothing like putting support/top and somehow being autofilled mid...because that makes sense. I mean if any role needs filled it is totally mid.
