I've actually never been hit by one, they tend to do one of two things. A: Miss and die instantly because they're ap B: Hit but they're tank NUNU so they're practically useless

Tanks are supposed to CC and set up lockdown for you team, not destroy your ass. If he's going full tank, he's going to be trying to capitalize on his teammates coming in for the kill when he CCs you. If he's not trying to work with his team as full tank, he's not doing it right. Tanks are SUPPOSED to not do loads of damage.
