Ranked has not been an enjoyable experience this season

Years and years of toxicity meta Players constantly provoking each other, have more of an incentive to troll and make their teammates rage. Then the player doing all of this passive aggression gets off scot-free because he can now punish another player. Essentially it's creating an incentive to PROVOKE other players into this "toxic" area.

-enjoy your report -report toxic player -spams surrender -spam death timer -missing pings while in summoner pool

All of the players who take the competitive scene seriously quit Dropped out of matchmaking due to trolls, feeders and honestly groups of people who literally don't care. I hate it when player's say the game is a casual game, when it's incredibly in-depth with many ways to create the win condition you want. But lately ranked is just a mess of who gets the worse teammates. What happens when all of your serious players quit? Dispersed matchmaking.

-I'll get gold and quit -placements and quit -troll picks every other game -forced winrates

Every single game is a chore of muting someone.. muting their pings.. voting no to surrender.. reporting.. dealing with endgame stat chat Why would anyone even want to play your game anymore, when you literally have to do all of these things every.. single.. game? Matchs tend to take 20-45 minutes, 5 minute ban pick phase, 5 minutes to load into the game. It's FUN to waste other people's time huh?

Champion capsules are bringing in more smurph accounts now than ever Have you guys seen all of the ad's for alternate accounts off of third party websites? It's out of control. We really have to slow down the leveling for ranked, because you're pitting fresh accounts with accounts that have played for 5+ years.

My name is...(you can see it in the post if you know where to look)... and I approve this message. Sadly, because people at Riot and the boards mostly hate me and I suffer because I am a perfect example of one of your "provoked" players, you will now probably receive massive downvotes and/or threat removal.

*not everyone on boards or Riot hates me, but enough do. I've literally explained what you said a dozen or more times on the boards and only receive criticism, flame, abuse, and hate back from boards members and even moderators. Which is another reason why... this post will probably be removed as inappropriate before tomorrow. Because they can't take honest criticism.

They miss the irony of the fact that they often treat me exactly how they claim I treat my teammate(s) for which behavior they ridicule me. And like you said... it's off repeated game-long provocation, etc. Oh well, maybe someone sane will read this before I'm banned from posting on the boards for awhile or worse.

I approve the post, but doesn't change the fact that there's literally a mute button built into the game

Just got on to play today, had to mute vote no and mute all pings.

I can mute in-game. I shouldn't have to mute entire team because my jg tries to 1v1 enemy and ends up 1v2 while I'm stuck under tower and he feeds double buffs to my lane opponent cuz he can't wait 6 sec for me to clear a wave or just leave. Then proceeds to flame me and convince my whole team to side with him and join in harassing me all game.

I can mute in-game, but that doesn't stop team from diving in just because omg... I see an enemy... and dying stupidly OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Then reporting me because I didn't tp to save them - even though I 1. pinged NOT to engage several times. 2. clearly communicated I'd be saving a tower or inhib elsewhere for the next few seconds. 3. my whole team dies in under 4 sec... tp takes 4 sec to channel which would leave me fighting alone anyways. 5. When I die or teammate dies while mid, jg, sup, or adc clears a side lane... the person who dies is bad; when teammate dies while I'm clearing a side lane... I'm bad (according to team). Cuz that's so logical and non-hypocritical lol.

If I played a match in bronze and kept trying to 1v1 the 4/0/0 enemy darius and dying... it's bronze and nobody expects better. If I do the same thing in gold... I'm inting. So if my team keeps doing it and I'm not there to die with them or FOR them because they made a "mistake" for the SEVENTH TIME in a row... how is it still MY FAULT?... Because it's not. So if I'm being trolled, intentionally screwed over and harassed by my team all game when they play like that... mute all doesn't fix it buddy.

Any game mode that's not rotating hasn't been enjoyable...

I wrote about this a bit here.

Ill snip this bit out as its one of the most relevent parts about toxcicity and smurfs.

SECOND: Stop banning accounts permanently. Do like Overwatch does and ban them for the season. Since they arent losing accounts forever, feel free to increase the punishments a bit. Id recommend a 5 game chat restriction, a 25 game chat restriction, then 2 week ban (along with a season long chat restriction), then if they still cant behave with a 2 week ban and season long chat restriction ban them till preseason for next season starts.

Sure, seasonal bans would still let people start up new accounts, and be jerks, but it would give people a chance to return to their accounts (probably having grown up over a few months), and they could set personal behavioral goals. As it is now we have a system that takes players with anger issues, and destroy their time and money investment, and turn them lose to play with fresh faced new players on accounts they have less attachment to.

Anyway OP, Ill let you in on the secret.

Riot has no real interest in curing toxic behavior, I know I know, but something something Lyte... Sure, they say they want to curb toxic behavior as a PR relation stance, but in reality, they ban accounts, the players make new accounts and spend money buying RP to get their champs and skins back.

They WANT that. They want to ban accounts so people buy things again. If they "cured" bad behavior they couldnt sell champion and skin replacements to players with banned accounts. Remember this is the same company that buffs champions before skin releases...

So players baiting people trying to get them punished... Riot just sees dollar signs. Why would they want to stop that? The only time you can really expect them to honestly do something about toxic players is if their corporate analysis says its costing them more paying customers than banning people to buy stuff twice is making them.

If you have +500 games and still stuck in gold then you are the problem... don't blame me but that's true.

the main problem, or lets say the source of that negativity is thd oneshot, or insane snowballmeta (like i do like ro. call it). 1kill early on often determines you to lose a game, so ppl. tend to be rlly triggerhappy 😅

Magia Erebea1 votes

Wait, I'm confused, what is the incentive that you say players have to make their teammates rage?

getting them banned.

It's almost as if the 'toxic' people who wanted people who didn't know the basics of the game with a decent champion pool in their ranked games, to not play ranked, were onto something.

There's seriously at least a few idiots in queue that thinks two seasons in the past and many more that "lol wrong runes" but force losses down people's throats instead of just d/cing for a remake. People who don't bother to learn league passive aggressively feed over someone's "troll pick". People who decide to tell strangers they are trolling and then when they get trolled back they cry about how they were just joking despite it being a common tactic by people who actually troll select. People who literally set up someone's lane into an enemy snowball and cry that that laner is inting and their one death that literally snowballed the lane in the first place didn't count because their braindead scaling champion got them a 0.90 KDA.

Maybe it was a bad idea to completely bottleneck aggro and so league is a shitpile of passive aggro instead of calling people retarded and then forgetting it all when everyone wins. It's almost as if forcing a less relaxed culture on the NA gamers has degraded some of the game-play by silencing most negative communication.

Maybe the ranked gatekeepers were right and half of the bronzies and silvers should just gtfo of ranked until they learn to buy a control ward and not put it in the fucking fountain for a quest.

You definitely have some good points. I especially agree with the one thing you said: that players provoke others in order to get them mad and banned. Unfortunately riot can't really act upon that it's the player behavior that they can't control. They aren't necessarily doing anything wrong provoking someone unless they're negatively impacting the game in the sense of that they're afk or intentionally feeding. Most people stick to spam pinging and chatting to provoke other people's behavior and that's not really a bannable offense. It's up to the person being provoked to keep their cool. Yes it's not enjoyable but it's also people being dickheads not the company. I wouldn't really blame riot for that.
