The real reason the rune and level reworks are bad

The level rework doesn't reward veterans at all. Doesn't matter that someone could have been playing 7 years and have 5k games (you have to remember that in the past the average game took 50 minutes instead of the current 30). All they get is an extra emote and nothing else to show for it. It's a giant slap in the face to veterans. At the very least let us get some levels in the new system to have something tangible.

The rune rework completely ignores the fact that it is essentially giving out flat values for varied costing items. Most of the runes being refunded are going to be about 15% of what it cost to get it. The big problem is. Sure we got use out of the runes. But don't forget that we also had to buy new runes every time something in the game changed every season. I personally have had to rebuild my ADC page at least 5 times since I started in season 3. Hell my tier 1 runes I bought and tier 2 runes aren't even going to give me anything for the time and effort I spent in S3 to just get a leg in the door to being competitive. So no matter what I lost IP thanks to the old system. Now because we are swapping to a new system I am losing 85% of my work. That's pretty fucking terrible tbh. It's not even 50%. It's 15%. So much for the thank you to veterans. You give me 15% of something that new players no longer even have to buy making 100% of my IP spent worthless and make it up by giving me 15%. I'm not sure that 1-2 years of use on the runes = a 85% devalue. The only runes that have basically never left the meta is armor and MR runes. Every other rune has cycled in and out or were necessary for a certain niche of champion. Hell in the video they released you need 150k IP to get Urf WW. Almost no one in the game that doesn't already have that is going to get it because its stupid high in value. Hell I think I will only end up with like 80k at most in the new currency and I have been playing a lot for almost 5 years.

Rune pages I am at least getting something that feels rewarding seeing as it actually adds some benefits to me (aka I no longer will need to purchase rune pages just to try builds and have niches set up). But literally I feel like the new system really isn't rewarding me for being a veteran in any other regard.

IDK about you but if you play a game with something for 1000+ hours and you worked for things in that game you would be pretty mad when everyone is given exactly what you worked for and all you get is 15% of the time you put into it.

If anything you are the problem that lets Riot just do things and not care about the player base. Riot takes almost 0 input from us. And they assume what we want and pretend to listen to us. Not once has something sparked by the player base sparked change. The only thing that has sparked change is bleeding in Riot's pocket. I for one do not want to support a game company that is free to play but is going to take away your work for not even a decent return on it. I expect this system to heavily upset a lot of people and possible even kill the little of league's community it has left.

I know of many players leaving the game and have been ever since Season 5. Riot is often too slow to react to players and by the time they do those players are gone. I mean a lot of players are just leaving because they have played the game so much they are bored of it. I know I used to be able to play this game all day long and now I can't stand playing more than a couple games because by yourself this game is just so much less interesting now (even with the lower game times). And even when Riot does address things its almost like they are blindly throwing darts at a board with half the changes and not listening to feed back.

I personally have put over $1k in this game and regret it now. Not that I need the money, I just regret putting it into a game where my feedback and many others aren't being taken into account. I'm not saying that I want control over the game. I just want my money to go towards something I feel has a proper effort being made in the majority of the time with consideration for the customer (in this case the players).

They decide to uncap the lvl system from 30 and you people automatically think since you are some hardcore vet you think you deserve something special.

This makes no sense to me and blows my mind. By this loggic every game that has ever released dlc should be given free to the people who played the game before the dlc came out.

They are adding something new to the game. This does not mean you deserve compensation for anything.

No it's called when you put in work you expect something to be given in return. Not a lot but something. If you are expanding a level cap usually you kind of scale it for the people who have invested into the old system because levels tend to measure experience. And putting someone who has more than 50x the experience than another person doesn't deserve to be put at exactly the same level without some kind of differentiation. Usually that means carrying over experience and increasing their level when a cap is raised. Telling them to start at the same level as someone else who has way less is a fast way to make someone mad.

Also for the record making your slowly thinning loyal player base mad is a fast way to lose a huge source of income. The biggest source of income in this game is long term dedicated players. Making them mad on top of them slowly losing interest is a fast way to lose your income.

No what you are saying is the exact outlines of communism. It favors those who work very little for those who work a lot. If you put in 50 hours a week and have really high experience you should get more than someone who works 15 hours with no experience. Communism states that both are equal and that all resources should be shared equally regardless of status. In other words you are calling me a Capitalist which last I checked works better than communism outside of theory.

I put in time and effort into this game as well as money. I expect to receive some kind of actual compensation when the things I worked for are made irrelevant or taken away. If you pay 10k for a car and you get 1.5k back a year later when cars are free wouldn't you be pretty upset? Sure you can now buy and use cars for free, but you lost 8.5k.

I don't care about future rewards because everyone can earn them. But taking my past rewards and throwing them out and giving me a small portion of them is pointless. And fact of the matter is if you played this game for purely for fun then runes wouldn't matter to you and you wouldn't have spent it. So runes were essentially forced onto any player who wants to be competitive and have fun. So don't tell me that 85% of my IP went towards my fun. It went towards being able to actually play the game. And now its being given to everyone and I lose about 100-150k IP because I invested into the old system. That's pretty messed up. I mean I can't buy skins with BE outside of the limited time shop (from what we have seen the prices have been ridiculous). So whats the damn point of it afterwards? I sure as hell can't buy things to aid my gameplay anymore with it.
