Can someone please explain to me why the number of dodging players has skyrocketed?

Let me start out by saying that I am a Silver II player who typically plays norms as support. Today alone I have tried to play 2 games and in the span of about an hour I have had 8 dodges and 2 remakes due to players failing to connect. What the heck is going on? Even before we get to select a champion people are dodging these games. Is it a technical issue? I have noticed that players are more frequently not connecting to the loading screen.

That sounds like a technical issue. Maybe a bit of lag booting them from champ select or their service providers doing "maintenance"

Tbh I don't think I've seen that many dodges lately.

I haven't really noticed it that much, it could just be a sorta string of bad luck. I get a decent amount of lobby dodges, but I feel like that's kinda always been the case.

you getting a few dodges back to back doesn't mean "the number of dodging players has skyrocketed"

This isn't just happening today. It is a noticeable trend for the last few weeks at least.

It seems like bad luck but let’s get the question out of the way:

Has your pre-game lobbies seen much of Akali in the pick and ban phase? Especially if she’s banned or picked early on?

She is either picked or banned in pretty much every lobby.

She is either picked or banned in pretty much every lobby.

I’d pin the blame on that, but then you say that it’s been going on for weeks.

Seems like technical issues if that’s the case.
