Just played as Sona against a Leona

Getting hit by one Leona's E costed me from 70% of my HP to burnt flash or death. That's obviously not "oppressive in lane". But me poking her down around that is apparently "too oppressive". Same goes for Blitz and Thresh.

I just left that game and joined a queue in DotA. Feels good to play a game whose balance is not completely biased. And no, I did not ruin the game for 4 other players. Riot did. They obviously don't want me to play Sona when Nami, Blitz, Thresh and Leona exist. So I abided to that.

I disagree when it comes with lulu. Lulu is a poke champion same as sona. Lulu tends to struggle with against enemy champion with sustain. So in the early game sona is really hard to face as an enemy because her heal gives a little advantage. In other words her heal literally erase my damage and lulu has no sustain.

You must be missing every skill shot and have 0 AP runes/Masteries.

Get that fix'd and you'll have no issues!

leona is strong against champs with no sustain and little to no mobility, her main weakness early is using her e to jump in, the enemy getting out in some way, and her being stuck way out of position and ready to be chunked down while she walks back to safety

Leona's E doesn't even do close to that kinda of damage a full combo from a Leona solo would do maybe 1/2 of your health if she was alone. A lot of Leona's damage comes from her passive which she cannot proc alone. This is assuming you are even lvls and items. However if you get caught as sona against a all in with a Leona and a adc you are lucky to only lose 70% and a flash. they are a hard engage burst. Sona is a poke sustain.
