This ardent censer change was a huge buff to Sona

According to boards Sona is a very weak champ, and for some unpopular beliefs, Sona is actually balanced.
So yeah, prepare to get downvoted!(i almost never downvote)
She's a glorified stat stick. Her kit DOES suck, but that doesn't mean she can't abuse poorly implemented items. She's a slave to itemization more than any other support one can think of.
I like Sona's kit and she is usually my go to support. Supports are almost always meta slaves lol.
But note how Sona's not picked in the pro league no matter how her solo queue performance is? Her kit's not good...it just abuses items until you win.
Ahri is also never picked. But unlike Sona ,Ahri's winrate goes below 50% winrate. Yes she is horrible in both soloq and pro player according to winrates. Sona does well in soloq and not so much in proplayer. This is not because Sona is underperfoming. It is just that other supports are better due to having better interaction with Ardent Censor(tanks have mastery that is just broken with ardent). After Riot removes mastery from affecting items, we could expect to see Sona more in pro play.

Ahri was picked, but then solo queue woes had her nerfed. Ahri's usually one of the safest bets for mid lane when it comes to a strong general performance in solo queue, so I don't see what you're getting at on that front. She still stands in a better position to be made pro play viable than someone like Sona.

Calling bullshit. If she can't be pro viable on a 60% solo queue win rate, forget it. Only way is if the upcoming Ardent changes somehow make her legit top spot broken...again...and even then she'll probably be an embarrassment like last time.
I really don't think Ahri is more pro player viable than Soma especially now... Ya the nerf before was completely not needed. Also was talking about now and not Ahri before lol. Also all pro players say Ahri is weak, one person even called her a troll champ. Unless Ahri does get a revert or buffs, I doubt Ahri will return.
I think 2 things hold sona back in pro play.

Pros have late game comps AND early game comps. There's all sorts of variety in at least that regard.
As for the ult size...Idk how they'll go about doing anything about it now.
This is something riot has been fighting with her since before her rework. Even when she does well she still feels weak at times.
Now if you are talking about size of her HP pool, she's the weakest champ in the game and envies minions.
I am always welcome to Sona buffs.
And Lulu, Tahm, Janna, Lux, and Zilean buffs...
I'm a Support main. >:D
Gotta disagree with Tahm and Zilean buffs.
implying that most support players know to auto during teamfights :^)
She abuses athenes pretty well as well due to stacking both shield and heal from her W. She can go full heal route or full damage root depending on matchups. She is in a good spot.
