Possibility of a "Fulfill A Need" Queue?

AFKs / Leavers ruin games. No big secret. What if it was possible for people to queue up to switch places with an AFK / Leaver in various sorts of games? It could be something like a reverse Team Builder, in which the game shows you how long the game has been going on, what mode it is and what champion you'd be playing.

To incentivize people to use the queue, an additional IP reward could be offered based on the type of match, how far into the game you took over and whether your team ended up winning or losing.

I'm wondering if this would be possible--or successful--at all.

Just rambling thoughts after dealing with two AFK games in a row. :P

That seems like a pretty good idea. Would this be for normals or ranked?

If you could only enter a ranked game for the first 5 minutes I think that could work. Otherwise, it would either be pretty free elo or a completely hopeless loss for whoever was entering.

Giving statistics before you enter the match would help mitigate people entering on something that was a guaranteed loss as well. If, at five minutes, the score is 1/11 or something I don't think anyone would want to step in... But if it was pretty much even I know I'd be happy to take over for double IP or something~

Honestly, how many people would want to come into a game that was halfway through completion, or so incredibly lost already that it would just be a waste of time (hence the reason someone rage quit in the first place)? Or what if people just use half completed games as reasons to troll? It is an interesting idea, don't get me wrong, but I don't really see it being all that practical.

The other problem that this would create is the pseudo feeling that leaving a game is okay, because someone else will come fill their shoes. You should be building a rapport with your teammates throughout the game, and swapping teammates halfway through is disruptive. But mostly my problem with it is the fact that is lessens the severity of leaving a game, something I think is fairly serious.

It could only be available for the first 5-10 minutes of the game I suppose to make sure that people aren't coming in on something that's already completely gone. Trolls are going to exist in League regardless, sadly... I think this just gives a chance that you can actual finish a game when it turns into a 4v5 and turn it into a win rather than just expect to lose 100% of the time.

Or it just gives another chance to get another troll on your team; I don't think it really solves the problem. There are much better ways in dealing with disconnects, the real question is why Riot hasn't implemented anything. 4v5's are very annoying and something should be done about it. But I think this would take a large amount of resources to accomplish and ultimately isn't the best solution. Just my opinion though.
