Why are tanks the only ones without a go to item?

Mages have ludens Adcs have infinity edge Bruisers have triforce and cleaver On-hit champs have guinsuu and bork Assassins have duskblade

What do tanks have? Sunfire. Cool. The mage instant kills you now. Spirit visage? Cool the ad bruiser and adc instant kill you now.

Tanks need an item that either gives a fuck ton of health and a in combat passive that makes them tanky or a item with mr, armor and health.

And don’t give me the “it homogenizes tank builds!” Argument. EVERY other class has a go to item that they can build in EVERY game and have it be effective. Tanks are the only ones who don’t.

Cuz pure HP is mindless and splashes so well into other classes.

Counter itemisation options are a good way for tanks. The synergy between multiple items to prevent a 1 stop counter that can be used by any class.

The mage is not instakilling you with sunfire lmao. The HP from the item alone will fuck them while you build MR. As long as you don't build two armor items back to back, you're fine.

And the reason they don't have a go-to item is because a lot of tanks are different and they have options. You don't need to deal with the mage right away, unless you're actually laning against them, so you don't need MR right off the bat. You also don't have to deal with the ADC right away, and they probably aren't going to be killing you that early on unless it's one of the very few early-game ADCs, and they certainly won't be instakilling you.

And even with what you listed, it's not universal. A lot of mages don't use Luden's, IE is useless on Kog'maw and some other ADCs, and isn't always the optimal choice even on those who can build it, and AP assassins and bruisers both exist. Like...you didn't forget Akali, Kat, Diana, and Mordekaiser were all champions, did you? 3 of them got pretty recent reworks. I'd forgive you forgetting about Kat, since it's been ages since I've seen one, but there's no way you forgot about Diana having just been reworked.

And then there's non-AP bruisers like Mundo, who can't use BC or Trinity...

And then there's whatever the fuck Singed is...

Also, need I remind you that Titanic is an item? Basically nothing but HP and damage, scales with your HP, gives waveclear...

You have 4 fucking options, depending on the situation. All of those champions have 1-2 options.

Source: I play literally every role. Including tanks. Including toplane tanks.

You 100% don't play any fucking tanks at all and you don't understand how items work.

A item that just makes you tanky WILL ALWAYS BE A SHIT FIRST ITEM FOR A TANK.

For tanks they need damage actually in there first item that's how it works. Since unless they're supports they need it to trade, gank and farm since there isn't a point to being tanky early on.

Like sunfire is a great and item and no you will not just die to ap damage after building it.

They also do have them. item 3068 and item 3001 are two good first items for many tanks now if you're Poppy vs a ap champion well you're fucked.

Like fuck off and go play tanks since you have 0 clue how they work.

item 3193 This item gives you both resistances (armor + magic resistance), gives even more if you are surrounded by several enemies and on top of it the active increases your health by 40-100% (based on number of enemies nearby). It is quite literally what you are asking for here:

Tanks need an item that either gives a fuck ton of health and a in combat passive that makes them tanky or a item with mr, armor and health.

Because tanks have to build for magic damage and physical damage. If one needs to get armor and MR simultaneously, one would be far better off getting components of an armor item and an MR item than getting a completed item that gave both.
