Should Amumu remain a yordle, or instead be retconned(re-retconned?) into a mummified child?

Amumu If I remember correctly, Amumu, when first introduced, was just a sad mummy child, but was later changed to be a sad mummy yordle. Why was this? I have no idea.

But, since Riot is working on a sort of blanket Yordle makeover/optimization, that means they have to take a look at ALL yordles, including Amumu, so then they'll have to decide whether to keep him as one or not. He's definitely in need of a VU, so you have to assume this is something Riot is discussing internally, as their decision will no doubt impact the direction of his new look/design.

So, what do you think? Should Amumu remain as a yordle? Or should they (re)retcon him into a mummy child?

Just update him to the current yordle aesthetic. Give him ears.

Mummified child is a little dark for a game targeted at young audiences.

We have a child character who enjoys killing people with fire and demons. And Amumu actually already is a mummified child, just not a human one.

My personal opinion, being a yordle adds nothing to his lore, it's an unnecessary convolution that isn't even clear unless you are blatantly told he is a yordle. When it comes to writing, show not tell, but there is no way to show him as both a mummy and a yordle without convoluting and weakening both his visuals and his story.

He'd be a stronger character as a human child.

Just read some of the lore, the setting is pretty dark and the game doesn´t aim for young audiences at all, most of the players actually are at least 16+.

That's just who Amumu is. But imagining that to be a child other than a Yordle seems uncharacteristically mean and cruel. It harsh on Amumu in general, but think about it. No parents or family, no memories, and consent tears.

I would argue a game rated T for Teen and with a HUGE focus on eSports (where the professional scene requires players to be at least 17 years of age) was one "targeted at a young audience".

Also, I don't think a sad mummified child is any less dark than half of the rest of the Champions in the game.

His head is huge, he definitely looks like a yordle mummy. Keep him a yordle to match his appearance.

Well, that could just be due to his model being old, because he also has a sever case of pizza feet (or pancake feet in his case).

As much as I think he should be made a child: the reason for him being a yordle is related to the age group that the game caters too (while many can be older, the ages also go as low as 8, if Bronze 5 chat logs are any indication)

Not gonna lie, I thought he was a human child cause it made sense to me that it would be the reason why he is able to relate with Annie.

His silouette does resemble Yordles more though so sure, let's keep him a Yordle.

Whys would anyone want to de-yordle him? don´t make ridiculous suggestions please.

Because him being a yordle makes little to no sense, in my opinion, and as I said, I believe he was actually retconned INTO a yordle at first.
