Man, I quit 3 years ago... and just got back to this. I received a lot of hate for my comment, so I'd just like to explain a bit of my reasoning.
@RIGed does have some very solid points. Yes, K-9 Nasus is already out there. Yes, he is also a symbol of Ancient Egypt. However Riot only used Nasus because of his canine attributes which resembles the k9 (canine police dog). This goes well with "The Curator of Sands" role as a guardian pet meant for protection. In addition, it was released with the Riot theme collection (which is more of a play on words for the company name).
On the other hand, Azir is not a bodyguard but "The Emperor of Sands", symbolizing dictatorship of the middle east. By itself, Azir is fine as it plays on the great Egyptian Empire thousands of years ago. However, modernizing it with the release of a 'Chief of Police' skin would not be part of a punny Riot theme, but rather singularly promote Police Empowerment. If you read up on the Arab Spring, most of the Middle Eastern (Egypt included) citizens risked their lives to protest against the corrupt tyrannic governments. In fact, it was all started by the suicide of Mohamed Bouazizi. He was a 26 year old Tunisian street vendor that was targeted, brutally assaulted, humiliated, and robbed by police throughout his lifetime. He tried going to the government for help but they refused to even see him. The ill treatment of law enforcement there was so bad that he publicly set himself on fire. What kind of shitty law enforcement is so abusive that it makes their citizens actually want to light themselves on fire?
This really hit home to me since I have close Middle-Eastern friends who were victims of all sorts of abuse such as rape. There was no one to help them since the police force/government were infamous for torture of civilians and turning a blind eye. I'm simply trying to put myself in the shoes of the victims/protesters in the middle east. To me, an assassin summoner icon is harmless since it doesn't have side implications. An EMPEROR of Sands being decorated with the CHIEF of Police carries some pretty negative connotations. Find a friend or someone who has lived in Egypt and ask if it would be a good idea to represent an Egyptian Emperor character as the Chief of Police.
