LoL should have at least one anti-mage
I honestly don't play DOTA, however I saw this concept there and realized that LoL doesn't have a single anti-mage champion in the game. I suggest that one is created in the future.

Isn't that kinda
's thing?
And Galio. I don't think Veigar's ult scales with enemy AP anymore so he's no longer an anti mage.
people needs to know that anti-mage IS NOT AN ANTI-MAGE, he's just called like that because of his lore.
he counters low mana pool carries that needs mana like chaos knight, but: -can't do shit against huskar who doesn't give a shit about mana -can't do shit against mages like invoker who has 2k/3k mana.
the true anti-mage of dota is Nyx assassin.
Kassadin is the closest thing to an Anti-Mage, and Riot considers mana burn to be "toxic" and "anti-fun"

Also this. AM does a great job at deleting mana in the mid-game against mages when he is ahead, but Nyx Assassin is the real Anti-Mage.
Fuck Magic.
Wow, this thread just shows that
and even
are long forgotten by now...
Both are not IMMUNE to anything, only have a kit that lowers the incoming damage, and only one type while at that, that is magic damage.
So technically,
.
Not really, Kayle only ults a single target. And while being immune to all spells in that period, it prevents death, but doesn't grant the ability to use the incoming spells back to the attacker(s). Scroll down a bit, I posted a bit more detailed description of the idea as a reply to DARKSLAYER85.
So, you just want the same exact hero put in League.
?

Going to get reworked soon. Also he only lowers incoming magic damage by building magic resistance, he's not immune to anything, especially ad casters coughZedcough. I was thinking more of a mirroring champion, in that he has one basic ability that while channeling (for a brief period) he absorbs the ability and get's a free use of the same right after. Ultimate ability would be deflection and reflection of all incoming spells to his hitbox, which could get bigger by the same ability, or another basic ability. Third basic ability would be some sort of movement speed buff, or a dash of some sort, in order to get into the fray of spells being cast. I don't know exactly atm, but you grasp the concept.

Never played Dota, so I wouldn't know the hero. But the mirror itself would be way too variable to be balanced in the game environment. especially in the sense that it would heavily counter high burst mages, and AP Assassins. (especially if it absorbs and ult.) Also, League isn't balanced around hard counters, so they wouldn't create such abilities that so easily counter another mage. It also appeared as if that anti mage had scaling off of enemy mana. The only champ that scaled off an enemy mages stats was veigar, but that got changed in the mage update.
Also, even though Galieo is getting reworked, chances are, they will keep his anti mage properties. (kinda his Identitiy) but again, even now, riot isn't going to make a hard counter, and even though Galieo has those proporties, he still can serve as a mage/tank hybrid. (Kinda like Cho'gath)
The DOTa anti-mage manipulates opponent's mana to do damage. However I never really suggested that LoL anti mage uses mana as basis to do damage, especially since some champions use energy as a resource.
And when you pick this anti-mage champion in blind pick...
Enemies:
jungle,
top,
mid,
support,
ADC.
lol manabreak
Kassa was port of Anti-mage, but got reworked several times... Check also some of the versions of Veigar...
why does league need this?
I realized that spells as a form of damage are pretty uncounterable by everything except dodging. There is only one item (Zhonya's hourglass) and three spell shields (Morgana, Sivir, Nocturne). that negate spells. However no spells reflect the abilities back, that is use the blocked spell to do damage back or provide cc (Fiora does this actually).
Maybe you should have specified reflect damage back. Also dodging is such a universal form of counterplay that sometimes that's all it needs.
And the problem with an antimage is that very little stops them from being equally or more effective against bruisers or anything that isn't a mage in league because of how ability and mana reliant most champions are.
- 2 Anti Mages
Kass not anymore. Scaling MR removed, silence removed, all he gets is a spell shield on Q cast which is... meh. Coulda given a true shield instead. Galio is the closest thing to an anti-mage left in LoL, and I don't think Riot will ever introduce mana burn back into LoL.

going to get reworked soon
Galio is an anti-mage champion
the real cool thing of Magina is his mana void, doing AOE damage based on the missing mana of a target. making it powerful against high mana pool heroes that waste a % of mana like storm spirit.
In league, not only there aren't %mana cost, but you would have people telling you "i used my mana and i'm punished" every other spells are already here, except mana burn because it would needs item rebalance to help you against it (dota2 has bkb and arcane boot against mana burn)
Technically
and
have % mana costs to them.
Basically
and look how that turned out.

Isn't Yasuo also an anti-mage? He deals high amounts of burst damage, has high mobility so that he can dodge skillshots, and has a wall that negates projectiles that most mages use. If that isn't anti-mage I don't know what is.
We already have one:
Passives makes him take a flat 15% reduced magic damage and his Q gives him a magic damage shield. His R makes it hard to hit him since Mages in this game often have skill shots, and his E is charged from spell casts. The only way he would be more of an anti-mage is if his W stole mana from his target, and that was removed because it didn't belong in League.
Now that I think about it, wouldn't an anti-mage be a bit too polarizing?
Yeah, now that I think about it too, yeah. But it would offer an unique ability to counter your mains just by knowing what they are going to do and when, like mirroring. It could be used a support, mid, even top against some casters (Kennen and Rumble are in meta).
I'm surprised Kassadin Top isn't used as a counterpick to them. R out of both ultimates and use Q to shield against both of their abilities except for maybe Kennen's Q, but that's a skill shot and can be dodged. Galio would also be a pretty counter to Rumble.
