I definitely criticize Riot a lot but...
The "Mute Ping" function is beautiful. I have literally used it in every ranked game I've played since this function was implemented. Thank you for adding this.

its main function is to stop ping spam trolls you aren't suppose to just mute everyone that messes up a lot of communication
if you're in Platinum you'd understand why I've used it in every ranked game I've played since it was made available.
I have used it only once, because I was ashamed of my own gameplay that game and to avoid getting even more tilted.
This exact scenario happened in my last game:
Me (support): "Hey, I pinged you to back up" (to avoid the incoming gank where the adc was ultimately killed) Braindead ADC: "Sorry, I muted all pings at the start of the game"
later that game the ADC is farming safely, I spot Akali going toward them so I ping as I couldn't type because we were setting a pick topside then I remembered they muted all pings... "oh well" I thought.
Great feature Riot; a game that centers on communication can have that communication terminated by people paranoid of the few bad apples.
But they gave into the will of the community, "I hate it when people put a question mark on my screen". Millennials, gotta love 'em.
EDIT: And yes, I know that if someone mutes pings and they die as a result of having done so that it is their fault, but my point is that you can't have a game centered around communication where people can just easily opt out and not expect their to be consequences.
you should only be able to mute pings, if that person has already pinged, so you can't mute everyone at the beginning. This would prpably lead to only target-mutes
When was it added though? I noticed it yesterday.
Implemented in the last patch, so just two days ago.
