"Shaco, wtf? Group you moron!"

That's the one line I hear every single game and I already know that they don't know how Shaco works.

"Nah, I'm gonna sit bot and take their free towers. Idgif if you're getting dove, all I need you for is to keep them busy for 30 seconds while I end."

As long as you don't troll the team by saying you'll come fight but run away the minute we engage (note: everytime) then I'm fine with Shaco doing what he does.

Split pushing, Catching people out, and being a being of chaos.

statelesskiller5 votes

because people dont understand how to play league of legends. they think there playing team deathmatch and dont understand that a non respawning tower being killed is better then team fighting

DemainaNyx4 votes

Yes. "Aced enemy team at 30 minutes, better base and then go get Baron." I don't care if you have 10 health, go take that free tower (or two), and then baron if you can. Urgh... those teams drive me crazy.

It's like how people want to siege mid and stand there playing ARAM for 3 minutes not doing anything instead of rotating to the lane with 20 minions in it.

statelesskiller2 votes

its why i play nasus. because even if im decently farmed i can FORCE the team (mine or them) to not aram it up mid. because SOMEONE important is going to have to come stop me. and i guarantee they are going to need more then one person to do it

XinZhao2WinNhao4 votes

This is also why people don't like playing with certain champs like Trynd, Shaco, etc.

RcGjWO640w6 votes

Not everyone can accept when they're getting carried.

XinZhao2WinNhao4 votes

I don't like playing with Trynd or Shaco whether they're carrying or feeding. I like my teamfights 5v5.

RcGjWO640w11 votes

Sometimes teamfighting is a god awful idea. You just have to know your team comp. I had a game where we had Riven top, Yasuo mid, Jinx adc, Morgana sup and I was playing Shaco, I just told them to not bother teamfighting because we had a much more powerful split push comp. We disintegrated towers and objectives and won pretty handily, all while never grouping for teamfights.

DeathBurst2 votes

Well, "I like my team-fights 5v5" is just stupid... I like my team-fights 5v4, or 4v3 (what a good split-pusher should be able to provoke). 5v5 is just a roll of dice...

And if it's 4v5 but the split-pusher took 2 towers and an inhib, that's still worth it for your team...

Linna Excel3 votes

Learning to be carried is one of the most important skills of the game.

WolfChases2 votes

Nocturne too :D It's so cool when you are splitpushing bot/top while they are preparing to fight 4v5 at the middle and than BAM you press R and huehue NocNoc you killed their ADC in 3 AA's. :D

Weathered2 votes

I think you may want to look into Shaco team fighting. Its better than you'd think.

RcGjWO640w6 votes

The thing I've learned with Shaco, he's not a great assassin. He's not the greatest duelist. He's not the fastest split pusher in the world. What Shaco brings to the game is the instant tilt that occurs when the enemy sees you lock him in. Shaco is annoying. Shaco is irritating because you can never catch him. He's always ganking you when you least want him to. He's always taking towers when you're trying to fight for dragon. He's always doing something that makes your team rage and it's beautiful.

Shaco is what happens when you give Teemo's stealth mobility.

Sims16199 votes

Shaco kinda reminds me of Singed in that the entire point of playing them is to be as annoying as possible

If the enemy team is having fun, they aren't playing that champion correctly.

Great Ozymandius1 votes

I agree that shaco can be quite effective in teamfights. What he is terrible at, absolutely terrible at, however, is sieging. That tower is a giant vision ward. Shaco can't get to the enemy adc to assassinate. Shaco's poke with e is not that strong and also puts him in danger of getting cc'd. Shaco can't put damage on the tower. Shaco can't surprise the enemy if they know where he is.

Some shaco builds can mitigate this weakness of his, but I find that it is better to either (1) hang back waiting for something to happen (2) farm the nearby jungle waiting for something to happen; or (3) splitpush.

zlumpy2 votes

Too bad you cant just send clone to them then have it never move. Then when they say group you can reply "I'm standing right there!"

RcGjWO640w2 votes

Tfw Shaco trolls no only the enemy team, but his own.

Bardful1 votes

the new yorick could leave his lady of the mist to cover a team fight

Keti2 votes

alternatively you could have picked a jungler that's useful >_>

Tyto Mors4 votes

shacos early ganks can fuck people up. shaco can easily invade jg and steal red/blue and maybe even get a kill, pushing the enemy jg'er behind and not being able to gank. late game he can split push and never be caught or at least have them chase for a good while. so hes definitely useful.

Keti1 votes

so can other early game junglers like elise, lee sin, and nidalee. And they all offer way more than shaco does later in the game

Tyto Mors3 votes

sry, but name a jungler that can take their red/blue buff by themselves with nearly no dmg taken and without using smite. then go to the enemies buff and take before they can arrive quick enough to stop him, plus with deceive and smite, shaco can secure it and get out pretty fcking easily.

if you do bad earlier game and cant help your team in fights, just go off to another lane and push it. you'll cause pressure on enemy team and still be able to get away because of boxes clone and deceive.

Keti1 votes

Any one else can do it with a leash and using a health pot, end result is the same, they contest the buff at full HP. Shaco is the one champion in this game I legit consider dodging if I see it on my team, because other champions are simply a better version of him.

RcGjWO640w1 votes

That's not the point and no, no champion can really do what Shaco does effectively. What Shaco does is play with the enemy team. Constantly BMing and taunting them to come get him, not because he can kill them, but because they can't catch him. Shaco becomes this looming threat that you never know where he is and even if you manage to chase him off of an objective, he'll pop up right back where he was, doing the same exact thing, forcing more and more of your team to respond to him.

Shaco does what he does because Shaco just doesn't die. Without point and click CC, Shaco becomes incredibly infuriating to play against with his Deceive jukes, boxes all in your jungle, and burst damage on your carries whenever he decides to show up out of nowhere.

Shaco's pushing bot lane and you send someone to run him off. If you shove it and leave, Shaco has item 3074, so he'll be shoving it right back all over again. If you stick around to push the lane yourself, you're open to getting ganked by Shaco or worse yet, Shaco just wandered back over to his team and has engaged by picked someone out and then wandering toward top lane to start pushing that one in. All the while you're stuck diddling around bot lane, trying to make sure that your towers aren't being taken for free.

Keti1 votes

People only get baited into chases they can't finish in low elo, you don't really have to kill shaco to really slow him down since every jungler outscales him.

Shaco split pushing is worthless if the enemy top laner has a tp(which they always do). Shaco is not killing top laners under their tower. From there all it takes is a decent tp flank or initiation. Sure he can pop up randomly if a team has no vision control. But the only place teams that arennt getting shitstomped have no vision control is bronze, coincidentally the only place where shaco can succeed at all.

RcGjWO640w1 votes

Was that before or after White Crow and Shaclone made it through Diamond with Shaco?

Keti1 votes

there's a diamond 1 ADC ahri main. that doesn't mean it's not strictly inferior to other stuff.

RcGjWO640w1 votes

Oddly enough, I was just thinking the other day that Ahri has a really good kit for an ADC, save for the AP scalings.

Waveclear and early game poke with Q, a defensive, "don't get on me" deterrent with her W, CC with her Charm and huge kite power with her Ult. ADC Ahri, while not optimal, has potential to be pretty powerful both in lane and in teamfights. Just saiyan. Lol.

Tyto Mors1 votes

i guess, but what you know what happens when shaco gets a leash? he takes the buff in very little time compared to even the fastest clearer. just giving him more time to fuck your jungle over, by taking buff then setting up a few boxes in path while shaco takes another camp.

Keti1 votes

Leashing shaco only really runs the risk of messing with his boxes, in the end he pays basically the ultimate price for a very slight edge on champs like Lee and Elise in terms of early mobility.

Tyto Mors1 votes

as long as they dont get the first hit on camp, then leash is really easy, so runs down to the point of your teammates knowing that, which youcan type which takes all of two seconds to do.

Droogzy1 votes

No other champion offer a better version of the psychological mind fucking that Shaco does to the other team. Saying that there are other champions that are better versions of him is just bull shit. Elise, Nidalee, and Lee Sin don't even split push anywhere near as effective as he does for gods sake.

I dread playing against Shaco, purely because I need to screw up my entire jungle clears to make sure I can mess with him more then he can mess with me. There's not a single champion that jungles that can do that besides him.

Keti1 votes

Or just ward effectively and keep your first clear safe.

DemainaNyx2 votes

People don't understand that. If you have a Shaco Tryndamere Nasus Olaf Udyr and probably a few more I can't think of, they may group, or they may just splitpush. You have to expect that when you start the game.

I had a game where we were getting creamed by the enemy team but our Darius top was splitting the entire time and even got an inhib. After being bitched at for not grouping, he eventually grouped and they aced us and we lost. I would've rather he been splitting and taking something while they 5 man dove us cause at least we were getting something for our deaths.

Sukishoo1 votes

You have to expect that when you start the game.

Only thing I expect is to Lose when there is a Shaco on my team, as it happens 95% of the time.

agbudar2 votes

Shaco Nasus Yasuo Leona Lucian this is not a teamfight comp guys its a motha fukin splitpush comp and its a GOOD splitpush comp. you only "team fight" when its a 5v4 or 5v3

RcGjWO640w1 votes

I mean, it's a god awful team comp, but would be funny in a 5 man premade or something.

agbudar1 votes

thats what i said why the downvote? im just saying that this is a comp you generally wana avoid full on teamfights

RcGjWO640w1 votes

I didn't downvote. Guess someone else was just thinking it. Lol.

RcGjWO640w2 votes

Like, c'mon. I'm carrying you. I've popped 2 inhibs from afk split pushing and all of the sudden it's a bad idea? Rofl.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

what elo is that. split pushing never works in low elo. unless the rest of your team can win anyway because they are fed or better team comp. i stopped playing splitpushers. no more of that shit. play someone with team fighting and global presence and carry yourself to high elo. basically gangplank

RcGjWO640w1 votes

We're talking low silver MMR is the games I play in. Split pushing wins games easy. While it's not a 100% "win games" condition, if you play split pushers, you'll climb so fast and so easily. If you can find one cheese to win 60% of your games with, then you're climbing. I've won the last 3 games off of playing nothing but Shaco split push. I feed my ass off because I don't go for kills. I go like 2-6 some games, but it doesn't matter because I'm taking towers and wasting the enemy's time trying to catch me. I don't have many kills, but I have a ton of farm and gold which means I'm still a viable threat constantly.

If you become a nuisance to the enemy, you relieve a lot of pressure from your team mates which helps them not suck so bad. If they're feeding, it alleviates pressure of the enemy from then and lets them catch back up while the enemy team is busy trying to deal with you. If you're a smart player and ward correctly, you shouldn't be caught often.

If an enemy starts to split push on you, get someone to help you, gank them, then split push again. Fundamental strategies is how I've found to climb.

never found success splitpushing down there. well am just gold 4 pretty close and i can't make it work here.

also i found it way easier to shut down spltpushers as all you have to do is push their lane. group and force baron team fight before they get to inners. i mean at baron u just go up and kill them. or even with some champs that have global ults or can move around quickl

very easy to deal with splutpushers. it works much better in high elo because your other team mates put pressure on other lanes and shit. but i dont splitpush any more.

Tyto Mors1 votes

you make it sounds as if split pushers will always stay in the same lane. if they notice that they keep sending someone top(assuming that split pusher is top laner) then they'll rotate bot and push that. they tend to not care about defending so switching lanes ends up what they do.

but then again, i am assuming that they have something of any semblance to a brain, and in lower elo that tends to not be the case.
