Rengar: the best assassin for low ELO SoloQ?
First off, let me introduce myself.
I'm a Silver IV guy (wow such pro) who loves playing
, be it Top Lane or in the Jungle.
I'm here to post my oppinion about this theme: could he be the best assassin for low elo's SoloQ? And maybe even SoloQ in general?
Now let's move on: Why is he better than other assassins?
There are a variety of reasons, but the reason with the most impact is his ultimate. It's a real gamechanger.
Because SoloQ is , literally, a group of random 5 people against another random 5 people who will probably not play with/against each other again, there is little to no coordination between the members of the team. Therefore
is able to use his ultimate , one-shot the enemy ADC if possible and he has a good chance to get away with it, especially in lower ELO's , where people don't group as often as they should. However, an experienced Rengar can one-shot someone in the middle of their team and use his ultimate's movement speed bonus to run away and repeat it later.
If you try the same as another assassin , such as
, it's not as easy to catch someone off, because
not only gets stealth when ult-ing, but much increased vision range on enemy champions, and his assassination can't be countered by something like
. But watch out for
! If the enemy APC has one, you need to take extra care that none of his allies is near him. If he is completely alone, you can go in for the kill. You'll probably waste your empowered Q because of the Zhonya's active, but the Ferocity regeneration helps you dueling that enemy and burst him, heal their damage or make sure they don't escape.
And , if all else fails, Rengar can always build tankiness in his build (
, for example) and still be effective , mostly due to his W's resistance boost/heal and his E's CC.
But of course, he has his fair share of weaknesses, and I'll let here some tips to make those weaknesses harder to reach for your foes.
If you are truly going deep to a full 1-shot build, you're very likely going to just blow up if you get caught. Good warding can help prevent that, just ask your teammates if they don't mind getting a pink ward each and a
. Try to get them listen to that, so that nobody gets caught for a whole 3 minutes, and that you can make some good picks when someone is alone.
Secondly, watch out for pink wards or regular wards when you go into your ultimate. I highly recommend getting a
for that, so you can sweep the bush nearest to you to make sure enemies don't know that you are going in for a kill, as well as denying enemy vision on dragon and baron.
Your early clears are very painful, so watch out for anyone trying to invade you. Ask your top laner to ward your blue/red (Depends on your team color) to prevent you from going into any disadvantage early on, for a smoother progress through the game. That red buff and it's 70 gold hurt early game.
Now some ask another question: Is
worth getting?
Once again, this is my oppinion. I personally don't like that item on Rengar. The reasons are pretty simple.
First, you'll waste the mana (and the AP is somewhat useless too) it provides from the Sheen part of it.
The Sheen effect , although powerful and synergizes good with your Q, will not be used as much as you might think. If you are going to one shot someone, it will be only used once. This item, I personally consider it if I am reaching after more extended duels, so that the damage starts building up and I can outdamage the enemy in a 1v1.
These are some rengar tips, strengths and weaknesses, alongside my oppinion on why he is the best assassin personally, if anyone has more stuff to support these just comment below, I'll appreciate a lot!
If you don't actually like this huge piece of text, then I'm sorry. It's still nice that you clicked this post though!
? team groups you see a "!" over your head drop ink ward
