Riot why did you try to fix something what wasn't broken?

RedCyclone··134 votes·5,159 views

I am talking of course about minion blocking, these solid walls are fustrating to deal with now, and If you are a champion with the same range as your ranged minions, then have fun fumbling around your ranged minions to try to CS

Yeah minion block has always been in the game, but it's never been a problem unless you were in a group of say 25+ minions, now all it takes is one minion to fuck you over as your champion spazes out if they ever make contact with a wall and a minion at the same time

Revert the minion changes please

It was broken on occasion. It is worth trying to fix it. It just turns out that the solution made things worse. That doesn't mean solutions shouldn't be tried.

Gangplank Denialplank was once a thing if I'm not mistaken.

He was complete garbage except for the deny.

I still played him to ruin my opponent's lane farm, huehuehuehue.

HandheldBrandon3 votes

He was absolutely not garbage. He wasn't the best but a decent GP denyplank could nearly make the enemy laner lose their lane through no power of their own and he would simultaneously gain a huge advantage for essentially doing nothing.

Remlap12233 votes

Um. His Q did magic damage. So not only could you crit for 2k worth of physical damage, but 2.5k worth of magic damage. How is that garbage again?

Let's not forget about his fucking passive that stopped healing worse than ignite did.

Dominick Destine1 votes

Um. His Q did magic damage.

Gangplank's Q never did magic damage... it applied the passive which was magic damage, but it has always been physical from the beginning. Furthermore, it was never able to crit for 2k damage barring extremely specific scenarios (Ex: Stark's Fervor negative armor aura + taric shatter + black cleaver -45, etc.).

You are talking nonsense.

Remlap12232 votes

V0.9.22.15: Added.

Parrrley (Q) Gangplank shoots a target unit dealing** magical damage** based on attack damage and can trigger on hit effects in addition to the ability's effects.. If he kills it, then he gains extra gold.

You should probably do your research before you open your mouth or type on the keyboard and click post.

As for the 2k damage, I could do that much damage as Gangplank building critplank before his second rework where his Q damage was gutted, so back on release, without question he coudl do that much if he built infinity edge and triforce.

The rare time I am mistaken. You got me, I started playing very early in the game but that was even before I began.

I was wrong... that being said, it has been physical damage for the overwhelming majority of time League of Legends has existed, given that he was one of the S1ers.

peachplumpear2 votes

It was. You could just freeze your lane near your turret for a really long time because you could just kill your own minion wave to stop it from stacking. It was dumb as hell to play against

I think your own minions should just get out of the way.... i mean they are the grunt sodliers and were the captain / generals...dont the soldiers clear a path for their captains???

3TWarrior2 votes

they're actually mindless golems conjured by the summoners. The summoners give orders to the champions, who have to follow them but the minions are pre-programmed to behave in certain ways for the League of Legends

at least, that's how it was before riot removed their own lore XD

If only we had something like a... preseason where Riot could try tings out and improve on them if they didn't work. If only...

If only we had something like a... PBE where riot could see if anything is game-breakingly broken before the actual balance testing is done on the live servers.

I actually hadn't even noticed the minion block "problem" until I saw people complaining about it in the forums.

Someone161 votes

plays a 700 range champion "guys I don't notice minion block at all x-D"

try playing irelia and report back to me

Melledoneus1 votes

You mean that demonspawn who can dash to CS for free? The same one that is as hard to get off your carries as Olaf? The same FUCKING champion that laughs at your armor and f*cks you over regardless with her autos?!?

Sorry. I just have a personal disposition towards Irelia. A very, very intense disposition that may or may not involve cathartic images of her death animation.

Someone161 votes

yes now without mana potions you can dash to minions a whole 4 times before running out of mana for trades

Melledoneus1 votes

First if all, that's inaccurate. Don't make me pop out the numbers, because you'll just embarass yourself.

Second, increased mana regen and the refund on her Q gives her a lot of mana sustain. She sustains mana almost as well as Fiora. And she never runs out of mana unless every key is being pressed through laning phase.

Third, Irelia has the ultimate "f*ck your trade" button: E. If somebody goes on her, she presses E and stuns them for a good while, allowing her to simplay walk away casually or shred their HP because why not? Her only real counter doesn't really stop her, either.

Someone161 votes

that my friend, was a hyperbole

Melledoneus1 votes

Forgive me for my blind aggression, my friend.

Shyvauni1 votes

Not a dash for free Cs only a portion of the mana is refunded. She is easier to get off carries than olaf as she is still affected by cc wjereas Olaf becomes immune to cc entirely.

Unlike vayne building health counters Irelia's true damage also her true damage is broadcast when her AAs will apply it as her weapons glow brightly.

You want to talk someone who ignores armor and has a mechanic with no way to counter? Look at Vyne. Build health to counter true damage except htat her true damage is %Max Hp sooo yeah that doe not work. Most % HP damages are physical (countered by armor) or magic (countered by MR)

However Istill feel Vane is not OP or a demon spawn. Just very very strong and probably too strong just not to the extent that being OP requires.

Honestly the only people who complain about Irelia are the ones who are to lazy to figure out how to predict her (which is not hard at all)

Melledoneus2 votes

You're forgetting the biggest offender of the % HP true damage: Fiora.

There is no counterplay to it. Try to CC her and she'll W it. Try to run and she'll catch up with her near-endless bag of dashes. Her slows, speed-ups, and everything just makes you a sitting duck, even if you have flash and you are playing Riven.

Shyvauni1 votes

Her %HP true damage requires her to position her self properly, Her W has a long and projcted cast. Her dash is not endless no idea why people keep screaming that it is.

But yes I despise any %hp True damage

Melledoneus1 votes

Her dash has a 2.88 second cooldown if she hits something with it. That means she can dash at your vital, slow you, get a speed boost, rinse and repeat. It doesn't take much positioning to kill people.

I think vitals need some down time.

Shyvauni1 votes

Predicting when fiora is going to dash (hint they usually run at you* is not that hard all you have to do is predict the distance (not that hard) and turn your open vital away

Melledoneus1 votes

Predicting doesn't matter when you're slowed to a crawl to begin with. Also, you don't have much time before she takes 80% of your HP in three autos in TRUE DAMAGE.

FedFarmed Nasus, pushing top lane and generated this HUGE minion wave (of allied minions), now going for inhibitor turret. See weak ADC cowering behind turret, dive and get 196 gold. There being nothing else to kill, the minions start hitting turret, and LOCKING ME IN TURRET RANGE. 1.7k damage from turret killed me. Literally, the way they behave, they circle the turret and closed off the exit, works even better than JarvanIV ultimate. Though, maybe I should've just tried to destroy it I guess, might've been in time given the amount of time I was locked in,

Are walls coded as minions as well? I jam up on Anivia walls too much from this patch alone.

Hawkefire1 votes

Yes they are, in fact a long time ago, if you were playing a champion that ignored minion block or bought a PD, you could literally walk through her wall.

Read up before you make these types of threads. Riot accidentally made the minions have a slightly larger area when trying to tone down minion block/pathing. Should be fixed for next patch.

3TWarrior1 votes

but they didn't post it on their own website...shocking

something like that should be as easy as a hotfix unless they completely rewrote the minion code

Melledoneus1 votes

It's more than just "hotfixing."

They need to find the source of the issue, determine what number is healthy, test it, see if the previous issues don't return, check for bugs...

Yeah, it's really that much. Don't tell Riot how to do their job, because it's much more than you seem to imply.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Or they can temporarily revert it in the mean time. Kind of like how normal team builder is absent from PBE for who knows what reason. I would love to test new stuff on pbe.....if I didn't have to play who can click faster in blind or watch it all get banned in draft.

Melledoneus1 votes

Reverting a flawed fix doesn't accomplish anything. It's better just to fix the problem and be done with it.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Leaving the flaw on live while they are working on a fix also doesn't solve anything.

They disable champions all the time for bugs. I do not see a reason to not "disable" the newer pathing and stuff while they work on a fix.

3TWarrior1 votes

he's kind of right...they could test and fix the bug on the pbe instead of releasing it to live and causing problems with builds and player satisfaction

for instance, how are champion bugs coming about from unrelated coding?

Melledoneus1 votes

PBE is much less populated and lets lots of bugs slip through. If they release it to live, it's much easier to find bugs because there are much more instances of it occurring because more people are testing it.

Choaru2 votes

So hard to get to a minion as Susan now when you have to walk around an army D:

Jreyes4561 votes

playing draven is so much harder now this patch since sometimes his axes get inside a stupid brick wall of a minion

Choaru1 votes

They should give draaaven a buff where he will just shove the minions who are standing on his axe's return location ;P
