Bork was actually intended for RANGED champions

As an alternative to a crit build, to go for a stronger midgame at the expense of a weaker lategame.

The only melees Ive seen buy it are MasterYi Shyvana and maybe XinZhao Tryndamere Warwick . So I find it hilarious how melee players are whining again about ADC "abuse" and to make bork melee only.

I dunno what you're talking about. It's been a major item on all of these guys

Then if anything, melee champions are abusing a ranged item.

"When evaluating items, we want to ensure each has its own important role to play in the item system as a whole. Blade of the Ruined King has filled a number of roles over time: dueling spike, kite enabler, and tank buster, to name a few. In recent years, we've introduced new items dedicated to filling one or another of those needs, meaning many former Blade users now have better options. Blade no longer needs to cover so many bases, so we're focusing its strength onto one main behavior.

The primary purpose for Blade is now to be another compelling lifesteal option for champions who care about basic attacking a lot. This focus guided our decisions on how to shuffle power. First, basic attackers reliably grab dedicated attack speed items - Blade doesn’t need to pull nearly as much of that weight. Second, quite a bit of Blade’s strength used to be tied into its active, but its new target audience needs power that manifests in every attack. We took strength from these areas and pushed it into power Blade’s users are best able to optimize."

Nothing about ranged champions, melee champions, ADCs, bruisers, skirmishers, etc.

It's just for champions who like basic attacking a lot.

It wasn't intended for "ranged" champions. It was intended for anyone who deals their damage primarily through autos.

Fair enough. With that said, this comment could be used to shut down all those "nerf bork for ranged!" "make it melee only!" people then.

It is at least true that the item is definitely meant for both ranged basic attackers like Twitch or Vayne and melee basic attackers like Yi or Tryndamere. The item was definitely too strong before on pretty much everyone, ranged or melee, though I don't know if it still is.

If it needs nerfs, thats okay, but Im all about equality. I have no problem with melees buying this item, it just shouldnt be nerfed for only ranged.

Bronze Demon2 votes

you like equality? ok give all melee champions the same attack range as ranged. now everybody can harass without repercussion.

Irelia is another melee that buys it, but that's mostly irrelevant to your point.

Remember that Skirmishers were historically refered to as "Melee ADCs." Excluding them just because their melee isn't really fair.

But for Bruisers who build it, (usually along side Tri Force) they are generally getting two things, base damage and sustain. The fact that they offer %HP damage gives them fair DPS against any opponent, even a tank. (Where many ADC's build it specifically to shred tanks) That combined with the sustain gives them pretty good levels of dueling power. Combined that with it's active, which will make it more difficult for enemies to kite.

I dont want to exclude anyone.

This is in response to the threads and complaints about 'ranged champions abusing bork' and people who think it should be "nerfed for ranged", which is really silly.
