I'll take the bait...

  • No last hitting, sure. We're just expected to harass the enemy laners and set up kills... while also protecting our carry and maintaining vision on river and lane brush.
  • Placing a ward is easy, sure. Unless you want deep wards, in which case we risk running into the enemy jungle and getting picked off. And all of these cost gold to maintain, and of course the missed experience by having to leave lane.
  • Peeling is easy? No. Having the responsibility of trying to keep 5 dudes from killing you is not easy, even if it is supposed to be a team effort. Not having crap positioning helps though, so do your part.

...I feel used.

This comment makes me feel that the person using Tisio account is by an actual Bronze 5, using this account (from a friend or w/e) to make himself look good

Then what are you saying? So you admitted that you're a bronze? I don't mind the challenge, just that I have no idea why you don't want to accept yourself about your own elo

lol, I have no idea why you believe I'm bronze.

People say support takes skill because there are so many people who cannot support. Considering it a boring role and not trying isn't an excuse. If it's so easy, even a bored person can perform. Yet the don't/can't. There is no truly brainless role.

But since you've already shown yourself to be anti-support support in another thread, you've obviously just started this thread to troll. So I won't bother posting here again.

Implying thresh is a support and not an abomination of balance. Lee win is easy.

Lol, you attack me in another thread and come harass others with this nonsense? This is really sad no matter how old you are.

Doing the job good is far from simple, and it's a thankless job as well.

ha, they even dare to complain, to be a support is the surest way to get any thanks in lol

League of Potato4 votes

Not really...you would think so, but it surely isn't the case most of the time.

You win lane and set up all the kills? Team glorifies your adc and doesn't give any credit to the support 9 times out of 10 guaranteed.

ADC dies after diving the tower because they were greedy for a kill? Support's fault.

I would say out of let's say 100 (won) games I've played as support...not even 25% I could say I ever got any thanks throughout the entire game. Just look at this thread. People are self-centered assholes.

If you call that an attack I feel sorry for you. You must feel offended by everything. Also, how am I harassing anyone? Once again, cry harder. And yes, it's simple to do well as support. I usually get gj as well. Maybe you don't because you're bad at it (^:

You really don't know what harassment is, do you? You gotta let shit go and stop insulting people (and yes, this thread is clearly bait so you can harass people when they disagree with you).

The basic of supports are easy. But just because you can do it doesn't mean you are doing a great job.

I disagree. I feel like all of support is easy.

I disagree. I feel like all of support is easy.

I feel like your one of those people that thinks their good at everything and therefore thinks that the role they are not good at is beneath them as being too easy.

Ever tried to actually land a thresh hook? Ever tried to help your carries kite against diving assassins that want to kill them? Let me tell you in this league of mobility its a lot harder to be a support then ever because if you don't land your cc properly it could kill the carry your trying to protect. Support is one of the least rewarding roles in all of league because even if you do well and play perfectly if you accidentally get a kill your carries well yell at you every time. In contrast it is also one of the most punishing due to the mere fact that your basically babysitting a champion through most of the early game and mid game.

So please troll more about how hard it is for an adc to basically right-click their way to victory or for an apc to combo their abilities while the support and most likely the jungler or top-laner are doing their damdest to try and protect them and help them kite...please stop biting the hand that feeds you it gets annoying after the 5th time I hear it.

warding is easy as hell

Generally yes.

peeling is easy

Sure. So is diving a carry, or nuking as a mage. No individual task is really that hard.

laning is easy

Sitting in lane is easy. Making the other carry suffer is somewhat harder.

The gigantic amount of failure I see when people who don't main support are forced to play it doesn't make me think it's as brain dead as some people think.

Based on this post, playing ADC can be narrowed down to:

  • Right-click minions
  • Right-click champions
  • Dodge enemy attacks

I'm fairly sure the average player isn't silly enough to think that's all there is to it. In fact, this applies to every role; it's more complex and difficult than any simple analysis can portray.

Having said that, I'm still fairly sure you'll come back with some kind of put-down. If it's just a personal attack, without anything constructive in it, I will not deign to reply. All I've done is exactly what you did, though with even more ridiculous simplification; I do not actually believe any role can be accurately described in this manner.

Why do you assume I'm going to attack you?

GaleWinUnleashed3 votes

Mostly because it appears to be a pattern of yours, judging from the other comments. It seemed more expedient to address it upfront, rather than wait until you'd already done it and trying to calm you down later.

Joe Dredd2 votes

I'm not gonna attack someone who isn't acting like they're special when they're mediocre. I just feel like supports feel entitled to constant compliments when they haven't done anything worth mentioning.

GaleWinUnleashed2 votes

All I ever claim is that I put my best effort into it =P

That certainly doesn't mean I don't make mistakes. Far from it. But I'm going to keep trying until the Nexus actually blows up.

I do know I can reach Gold (did it just fine last season), and maybe Plat with enough time, but I'm not silly enough to believe I know everything and just have "bad teammates". If a game goes south, I'm far more likely to blame myself than others.

... Except for that one game where we had an absolutely horrendous Lee Sin. He built full damage, chased any enemy he could see, and went 2/13 by the end of the game. Every enemy was capable of killing him 1v1. That game sucked =P

A lot of people here fail to recognise why we have supports as opposed to merely duo-laning bottom lane (there is a large difference). On Summoner's Rift, there are 5 players per team, but only 3 lanes. Simple enough, 3 of the players can get their gold from the lanes, and buy their items. These will be getting the most gold, so these will be the 3 players most reliant on their items.

We have 2 players still to gain gold. No matter, there is just about enough gold available through your jungle to sustain, but not as much as any of the lanes. But, you are able to be a roaming entity, and cause map-wide pressure. All good.

But what about the last player? There's not really anywhere left to get gold. There's a few options here. They can duo-lane, but this hurts the income of another player, and just spreads the gold and experience of that 1 player between 2, so not always the best option. They can join the jungler, and this is sometimes done, but it still works similar to the role of support anyways. They'll need to be the one player who sacrifices gold income, because it would simply be better for the gold and experience to be on other players on the team regardless, such as the ADC, Carry and Engagers.

second this laning is easy too, as adc you should last hit, harass, fight, even ward with the trinket, as the support, preferably as something like janna, you just hang around and sometimes ward, shield or harass, if you are bored you go all in.

I read this and wonder how much support do you play? There is a huge difference between the kind of support you describe. (which I hate to play with.) and a truly good support.

The support has a rather large set of duties they need to perform and to perform well if the team is going to succeed.

First, they need to harass the enemy ADC and support to keep pressure off their own ADC and hopefully allow their ADC to last hit more. I get a feeling you don't realize just how complex this can be. If your ADC is concentrating on last hitting, then other than working on their positioning they probably aren't paying close attention to the other ADC and support. They might try to poke occasionally, but their primary concern needs to be which minion to shoot next. So the Support needs to be pressuring the other team. It tends to be dangerous as you often will be far closer to the enemy than your ADC, but that's part of the job.

Second, you need to be warding. This sounds easy "oh just walk to a bush and drop a ward." But a good support is going to be warding all over the place. I've had games where between the sight stone, a few stealth wards I picked up before I got the sightstone and vision wards I probably spent 1100 gold on wards. That's gold I didn't have available for any other item I might need. Also I often have to travel into the fog of war to set up wards so that the ADC can't be surprised by a jungler gank and later so that the team has vision control.

Third, while you aren't expected to be dealing a ton of damage in team fights, most supports have vital roles and duties. Most have kits with large amounts of crowd control, so they are expected to time their ability use to allow the ADC and other damage dealers to land the most blows possible. And if they are a support/tank they are supposed to be in front protecting the damage dealers.

It's easy to be a bad support because you can just hang around and do little, but a good support is very active throughout the game. I play with someone who mains Soraka. I can't count the number of times he's saved the top or mid-laner in a fight with a well timed global heal even while in bot lane and harassing the enemy. It requires a great awareness of what's going on all over. I've also played with a support Soraka that has the attitude you show here, and ended up struggling to get CS because the Soraka misused spells, failed to harass and at times just got in the way.

such skill, i, just think about it, i walked in the fog of war and warded a bush on the river or in the jungles

hahaha, to look at health bars at left and to press r when they begin to get shorter fast it 'requires a great awareness' nowadays lol if anything it's the easiest part of playing soraka

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

You say support is easy because the only supports you have been playing are the types of tank supports that go all-in Thresh Leona Braum . Too much freelo in that type of set.

Show me good matches of Soraka Alistar TaricZilean , then I'm convinced that "support is ez".

Joe Dredd2 votes

soraka is even more fucking brainless than thresh. I'm honestly disgusted that you put her.

BeatzBoyFTW2 votes

Then why aren't there any games of you playing her? What, are you going back on your words now?

Joe Dredd2 votes

Because I don't like her? And how am I going back on my words? Or are you so caught up with trying to beat me logically that you're making things up?

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

You say support is easy, means you're also implying the role is still too easy despite various champs you're using. Don't like her, it's fine. But since you said supporting is easy, why are you scared of playing her for just once?

Same goes for Zilean as well.

Joe Dredd2 votes

I'm not afraid of playing them. I played soraka a bit a while back (i mean a while back) did pretty well with her but her kit was boring so i stopped playing her.

Sire Hippington2 votes

'you sit around doing nothing mid game' if thats the general thinking for supports, it would explane why i find so many bad supports....

'warding is easy as hell' and yet i find mi self in alot games in which no proper warding takes place

'laneing is easy' supports have about twice the impact on how a botlane works, they setup kills and go for the trades while maintaining vision and brush controll...

If supporting would be anywhere near that easy, the majority of the people wouldn't screw up on it as they do....

Sir Yamazuki2 votes

Easy? No. Easiest to be carried from? Yes. A good support vs an average support is very noticeable, but to be carried while supporting is easy. No one expects anything from the support in soloq other than using their abilities and warding. As long as they ward, no one but the adc ends up raging at them. It's also the best role win while being average-below average in, being an average, or below average, jungler, top, mid, or adc vs anything above average means you lose, where as supporting you can just pick Janna and push R and you're automatically useful or Sona.

To be an actual good support you have to do more than just push R and ward though.

gr8job2 votes

I don't care if it's easy or hard or stereotypical of pussies or women. I love supporting. Why? Last-hitting is boring. Playing support means you don't have to engage in all of the boring elements of the game. Harassing and zoning is fun. Helping others is fun (to me.) 2v2 lanes are more fun, in my opinion. If supporting were easy, every support main would be high-ranked, but they're not. It's a role that relies on your teammates in order to succeed. Is that easy? No. That's actually probably the "hardest" thing to do.

Joe Dredd2 votes

If you love supporting, then support. I'm not trying to get people to stop supporting. I'm not trying to make people play things that they don't enjoy. do u man.

ADCS ARE BABIES AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP THEM FROM GETTING KILLED OVER AND OVER.
