What exactly do you do versus tahm in lane?

You never really win trades. It's either back off and let him regen all of his health after trading or keep fighting and he instantly doubles his health and you lose. Both situations are terrible.

Yeah, if you can make him pop it, you've made the damage stick.

So make him pop it whenever you can.

Sire Hippington1 votes

in order to make him pop that shield you have to commit really hard, which means he will get the passive stacks up. If he has the passive stacks up, you can't easily disengage once he pops the shield, as his stun+W are quite powerfull. It's also unlikely to win the all in aginst his damage, cc and shield.

If you play a melee vs a good tham, your prettymuch screwed till your jungler shows up.

Sire Hippington1 votes

1v1, the E can really give him the edge, but if you have your jungler, he's an easy target as he has no escape and no aoe

Bârd4 votes

CC him when he wants to pop the shield, then use some form of execute/burst

Out-farm and outscale.

Out-farm and outscale.

And then he forces trades and you slowly get pushed out of lane constantly

SaltyKracka1 votes

So? It's not like he does damage unless you let him get an E on you.

? His Q and cannon W both do a lot of damage, they have great bases. And after 6 they start to get a lot stronger. His poke is amazing for a tank and decent even by mage support standards.

Durzaka4 votes

Forces trades?

He is literally incapable of forcing trades. He has no way of closing the gap, if he ever wants to fight you (without hit jungler) and you dont want to fight, he cant do shit to keep the trade going beyond chasing you to your turret, which anyone in the game could do.

Joe Dredd3 votes

use q. auto twice drag you back

Durzaka1 votes

Glad to know you got hit my a skill shot then 2 AAs.

That is some amazing reactions you have there. It isnt like you have 7 minions to hide behind, or depending on your character, any number of ways of making a gap, or CCing him etc. etc.

Joe Dredd1 votes

A lot of skill shots don't miss If you actually aim them correctly.

Durzaka1 votes

A skillshot AND 2 AAs.

That implies some serious bad play by you if Tahm is able to do that whenever he wants.

Joe Dredd1 votes

i got auto'd twice i misplayed hard. nice joke

TahmKench doesnt have much damage just out farm him then poke him so Ryze Vladimir and Gnar will be good against him DrMundo will out sustain him with his ult and Garen can outscale him

Buttigieg 20203 votes

Lol, cannon minions outscale Garen

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

garen is extremely tanky late game plus good peel and a strong ult to kill none of you obviously any good garens

Did you just compare top laners to tahm? I'm pretty sure he meant support. Also, Garen doesn't outscale shit.

SteelStallion2 votes

I don't think he's a lot of trouble in the solo lane. The real terror is Tahm support that devours his ADC and protects him against 'everything'. He can eat his ADC out of the middle of a Yasuo ult and that shit is on a low CD to boot.

Downvote all noob QQ threads.

dr lichdeath1 votes

ye not only that his devour minion cannon deals way too much dmg too srsly what right does an aoe skillshot have to do 100 at lvl 1 most skills dont do that tahm shouldnt either i really dislike the fact that he can basicly win his lane by just minion cannoning and its not like that cd is so terrifying long that you have to choose between devouring the enemy and devouring a minion

you do nothing and wait for them to fk themselves up because no one knows how to play Tahm SO STOP PICKING HIM

Lugg3 votes

There are several players who already have him down.

Already in my top 3 champions. With Bard being first and Yorick being second.

You may not win but you will get in mah belly.

You just play Jayce and laugh at him as you auto-attack him from far away. He walks up to you to eat you? Knock him back. He builds full health? Just Max your E, it does 20% of his max health, plus all of your AD (AND ITS A KNOCK BACK!). He's not the only one who can chunk your health bby.

Besides, it's not like he can catch you anyways, just place down a speedgate, and walk away.

Jayce

Play a ranged champion and watch him cry while you kite the shit out of him.

Sire Hippington1 votes

stay save and hope for jungle ganks while you farm up for teamfights. Tham is a really opressive lane in many matchups, but he is bad in teamfights.

Sooko1 votes

From the little time I have played him in the PBE, all I can say is ranged champions are hell for him.

Sure, he has his skillshot, but if that misses, he is lost for a few seconds because his MS isn't that great anyway.

All-ins aren't exactly a problem for him while his E is active, but the cooldown is decently long. If you seen an opportunity to engage on him when he doesn't have grey health, you might want to go for it, because that damage is gonna be for real, without mitigation or regeneration.

Or you can just hope he messes up his W, and try to keep him close to your team when one ally of yours is inside him, so he doesn't get focused.

Well, in the bot lane match I've played against Tahm, I used Jinx's Q to poke him, and my name helped a good bit too by getting her bubble on him so I could poke him down. Even though the Kalista and Tahm did manage to push the wave into us, Tahm's E doesn't regen all the damage taken, so eventually they did have to leave lane. I am also realizing that I usually type out really long messages or replies, but never do since when I type them I get out what I want to say and delete them, won't delete this one tho.

You pretty much answered your question. Fight him until he pops his shield, then back off. The shield decays pretty quickly, and after, just finish killing him.

Also, DO NOT FIGHT HIM NEAR HIS TOWER. I can't believe how many people fight me near my tower when I'm playing that. It's like they are asking to die. It's like towerdiving nasus, Ireland, or ryze

All Karma supports hate him even if they don't hate him. HE REMOVES THEIR PURPOSE IN LANE! The purpose of Karma support is to poke the enemy out of lane and help escape from ganks because you're in bronze and your ADC is a potato AND NEVER HELPS WARDING! But when Tahm has CC and an ult that amps ganks while healing off the poke as well has keeping has ADC safe from it Karma is about as useful has a Leona fighting Morgana.

Its all about knowing when to go in and not go in. This is actually entirely how you beat him to put it short. Also when to continue to pursue the kill and not, or momentarily back off. Managing your aggressiveness is key against Kench.

Joe Dredd3 votes

When is a good time to go in? When is a good time to be aggressive?

And being forced to momentarily back off is as good as losing.

Can confirm Garen is stronk when done right I don't often play top lane, but if I get stuck up there with him, I'm left with nothing but shattered dreams and the miserable realization I've been shut down before I ever even got going. He's destroyed my lineage, my heritage, my entire future, and will do nothing but spam one armed pushups while I suck up what little CS I can under my tower, whilst I sob my woes upon deaf ears.

Nobody can hear you scream when you're silenced. Nobody.
