@Riot I don't think you got Ekko nerfs the right way

Ekko

So his W ability, besides all else, reads:

If Ekko enters the sphere, it detonates, shielding him for 2 seconds and Stun icon stunning all enemies inside for 2.25 seconds. Ekko can detonate the sphere even while dead or untargetable.

Ok, this big AOE stun doesn't exist in any other champion's kit, and it certainly isn't 2.25 seconds flat. What comes the closest is Leona's ulti, which has smaller AOE radius, and it certainly isn't on 14-22 seconds cd without cd reduction. Granted that Ekko gets at least 30% cdr with Iceborn Gauntlet+Spirit Visage, this ability has 9.8 cooldown. I think this is what makes Ekko unmatched as a tank.

He has overloaded kit, and these 6.10 nerfs made him a bit weaker, but as long as his W is this game breaking I don't think his ability to dominate as a tank will ever come to end. There were some talks about making his W stun scale with ability power, thus force him more into building AP if he wants utility, which I find quite good. I don't know what happened, but Riot didn't include it in this round of nerfs.

As a matter of fact the skill is very unpredictable, the particle shows for the enemy barely half a second before the thing actually lands, now take in account that ekko has 2 slows and a gap closer on his kit besides this stun/slow...

I didn't realize it was a 2.25 seconds stun until now, that's crazy and on top of that take in account the skill has a passive component AND A SHIELD WITH 1.5 AP RATIO this is some ult lvl skill on a 14 seconds cooldown at max lvl...

I've said it countless times on these boards, Tankko will remain a problem until his skills do almost no damage but now that you mention this crazy powerful skill... Tankko will haunt everyone for a long time.

W is the last of his problems: if you are remotely smart you will easily dodge every W he uses both in lane and in team fights. His problem is that he's got too much mobility and damage to be a tank, and too many tools to be an assassin so, since surviving more means you will do more damage, he's just built tank and who cares.

So, one game is enough to say that ekko's w is op?. CLG made a shitton of mistakes there.

The Cane Master2 votes

Do not minimize. This was semi finals of mini worlds, the game where 2nd best and (arguably) 3rd best team met. Even if they did ''shitton of mistakes there'', how do you consider an average Joes in Solo Queue to behave? I'll remind you that 73% of player base is silver or bronze. The flat 2.25 cd AOE stun with 10-15 sec cd mid game is flat out broken, no other way around it.

What you are saying is: "Take semi finalist ekko and put it against a bornze/silver average Joe" Take a silver/bronze ekko, he will never land a stun, if he does land it it's because his opponent is stupid and walked into it. Your way of reasoning it's just wrong from the start: if you pick a good player against a bad player like you are doing right now the bad player will lose by default, even with a ww vs teemo (where WW is the good player and teemo the bad one). Be real: a bad player will hardly land a stun, while another bad player will hardly dodge it, the chances for a challenger player to land it on another challenger are the same as the chances a bronze can land it against another bronze: t all comes down to mistakes made by both parts, and as I said: in that game CLG made too many mistakes (especially in team fights), even I can land an ekko stun if the enemy walks into it and I've never played ekko.

You got it wrong mate. First of all, the game I showed you was a professional match, meaning that both teams have had months of practice dodging Ekko ever since he became the undisputed no1 top laner (tank). Now, average Joe plays against average Joe, meaning that it's the same, if not easier for Ekko to abuse his overloaded kit.

Valexfor1 votes

It's not, it's not easer since the average joe is not as good as a challenger player both against and both with ekko. You don't even realize yourself what you are saying, it's not like the average joe is bad but the average joe that's playing ekko becomes a challenger out of nowhere and doesn't make mistakes, places all the stuns perfectly and is a god, and that's pretty much what you are saying, if you don't realize even this, then this conversation ends here.

Actually, I've just realized, you are silver II, while I reached plat IV for the 4th consecutive season. The conversation ends here.

Lol. People just want to stand in one place dueling ekko, they deserve to get stunned. When fitting ekko in one zone, you have to watch his stun sound when he fires it and his ult shadow. Most people do neither, get hit by their own poor play, and claim "omg op".

In lane its hard to land ekko stun, and easy to avoid. Because 1v1 people are aware of positioning and avoiding stuff. But people get all retarded during big fights.

Its a big ass delay, its usually easy to tell where he is going to use it.
