Theory as to why Riot is nerfing Sona.

As we all know, Sona is getting axed on the PBE

Now, Sona also had files on the PBE for a new skin, which is quite possibly the ultimate skin. I expect that riot wants to nerf Sona quite a bit before they release the skin, because as we all know, Udyr and Ezreal weren't really picked up until their ulti skins came out. Now, we have 12 year old fanboys afk farming the entire game and screaming about the GAWD DEER whenever they get a kill.

Riot probably doesn't want something like that happening again, but hey, instead of nerfing , they nerf a medium tier support that, mind you, they chose for the ultimate skin.

Isn't like, part of the point of ultimate skins to get champions appreciated more? It happened with Udyr, I am pretty sure he didn't face nerfs for the reason that he was getting a flashy new skin

I would think that they're nerfing Sona because she doesn't require that much effort to basically be god-mode in the bot lane. She heals well, pokes too hard, and has a stun.

If you've never played support before, don't know what you're doing, and build AP, you can still run the table with her. There's no hard choice on Sona. Is she impossible to beat? No. But there's never a combo you shouldn't take her against.

I didn't hear she's getting nerfed but she's should be getting nerfed.

you call having the weakest heal in the game "healing well?" by that logic every champion in league heals well b ecause they are all capable of using relic shield which btw heals for more than sona

also lol @ trying to claim ap sona is easy to use when only 2 people in NA can handle her at a high level it requires perfect judgement the entire game or you die

if you attack at the wrong time you lose boots of mobility speed boost and you are now the slowest champion in the game with 0 escapes that gets 1-2 shotted by the entire league roster

not dangerous at all amirite?

if you are warding literally just the action of certain junglers like j4/vi WALKING TOWARDS YOU after they see you is considered a sign of aggression thats dangerous enough to force you to flash/ultimate to live

thats right JUST RIGHT CLICKING TOWARDS A CHAMPION WITHOUT HITTING THEM is actually that terrifying at medium distance because of how easily she gets 1-3 shotted by anyone with any kind of damage

and if you get hit even once guess what? boots of mobility gives fucking +25 movement now instead of +45 after the nerf you will absolutely never escape without flash/ulting

no hard choice on sona? kiss my ass the entire game is a hard choice because if you so much as pick your nose or scratch your ass while being 2 pixels out of position you instantly die

how are akali, xin and morg op lol. Nobody asked for sona nerfs though, i heard that riot said they cant nerf lee sin because of community because of community back lash, but sona nerfs get a ton of back lash lol

So Riot wants to intentionally lose potential profit? For the reason of losing potential profit? Why does Rito want to lose profit for the sake of losing profit? It doesn't make sense, someone over there needs to take Business 101. The point of a business is to make your customers happy, but Rito is intentionally angering them instead. Whatever happened to "The Customer is Always Right?" This is not how a company should be run.

The customer is always right? Lol, I saw 10 threads about how OP lee sin is on the first page and I don't see Riot going out of their way to nerf him.

Akali has alot of power, mostly because she has probably so many different items to build, she can counter ad and ap quite strongly with qss/zhonyas. Morgana is balanced for me, except her incredibly long bind. Xin has a overhelming early game, but thats it. Lee sin is .. lee sin, and fizz.. is fizz.

The movement speed nerf is probably as critical as the heal nerf, because less movement speed = less time to position for ultimate = higher chance of not coming in time and more dependent on flash. Seriously, I'm getting the distortion add on for boots, so i can flash/ult in every teamfight.
