The trouble with maining something on the PBE is that the champion could be changed when it gets debuted on live, and the quality of opponents on the PBE is probably worse than beginner bots, due to things like lag and bugs.

So if I only play a champion in beginner bots for a few weeks, could you still say I main that champion in such a condition to be ready for ranked? Hell no. I don't care how many games you played Sol on the PBE, he'll be a priority ban of mine until a week or two. I don't trust anyone to man him well enough for ranked yet.

99% of the players don't even have an account on PBE. To have an account there, you must first be an NA player. And even then almost all NA players don't have an account. Saying that a new champion (in this case, Aurelion Sol) should be allowed on rankeds just because someone may have tested it on the PBE is not a valid argument at all.

Aurelion Sol (like most new champions) will be allowed in Ranked so that people who have played him on the PBE can demonstrate the champions skill set and combo's outside of the video's Riot makes for new champs
99% of players is an exaggerated number, go to any college that has a LoL community and nearly every single one of them has a PBE account, they are much easier to obtain than you think and the criteria to get one is not that difficult.

Only partially correct. EUW and EUNE players can also have a PBE account. Other than them, though, no other servers can have a PBE account. BR, JP, and LAS players, for example, can't have a PBE account, unless they create an account on NA, EUW or EUNE, and level it up there.
I don't think this is enough reason to allow a new champion to be used ranked. PBE only allows you to test a champion's skillset to see if it has bugs but it does not allow you to completely test the effectiveness of a champion as if it was live.
In a country which the main server is not NA, EUW, or EUNE, we can't have a college with a LoL community that has PBE players, for obvious reasons (even if there are PBE players, they must have an NA/EUW/EUNE account first, and most of them do not have one).

Its one of those things where while technically players outside of NA can use the PBE, the latency is too high to make it practical.

They only allow people in at certain times. I got one around 2 years ago when they needed more testers. I don't know if they opened up the account creation since then.

TBH you just have to be lucky, of course the likeliness of getting into the PBE if you've had any types of long bans or a long history of toxicity, but out of ~8 people that I play League with often, 4 of us got into PBE.

Two of the 8 in my friend group are brothers and live in the same house - they both had shit computers and internet at the time, only one of them got accepted. We were accepted when the servers were located in Portland, and we live relatively close, so we got some 22 ping. It could, of course, be because of internet quality as the evidence points towards it.

1.) You have to be in good standings

2.) Be active in Bug reports, and positive board discussions on technical aspects of the game.

3.) When they open it up they have a plan for what is to be released. IE: New supp champ & supp items and subsequent supp champ reworks. So naturally, they invite people who play the support role a ton.

Agreed, if you played on PBE, why not just say "Don't Ban, played on PBE, he's OP" or something like that. Claiming new champs are your "main" implies you suck with everyone.

In the jungle though? I guess Malphite would work but Vi can do it from Level 1 frequently whereas Malphite needs 6 levels and 120 seconds.

Also, I don't really agree with the statement that Zyra is easier than Vi.

To be fair, a newly released champion can go both ways. They may completely feed due to unfamiliarity with the new champion, or because nobody knows how to properly counter that champion yet they could completely crush the match.

Take it with a grain of salt because i'm bronze, but that is exactly what just happened. I picked aurelion sol after my team begged me not to. I just won the game for us single handidly. constant pressure in all the lanes and destroying them because they didn't know how to counter. Plus, they didnt have any champs to close the distance which is why i wrecked them.
