She is not broken but irritating to play against because:

Almost all of her "bad" matchups are skill based while all other champions have some harder or softer counters. Riven has maybe Nasus, Renek and now Fiora (dunno about new Garen).
She can use her skills twice more often than almost all other top laners so its really easy to get baited and die.
And finally best thing, Die once in her lane and its over. You are fuckin done there. It doesn't matter if you are Malph or Jax, she will be able to zone you till you won't be able to fight at all or kill you again and again.

not to mention when she gets some ad she can trade with you underdamp tower she is easy to stop just heck annoying to fight good thing about riven's tho if they are bad they go into hyper feed

New garen counters her fairly good now since he has damage again. I was against her in the past and she ended up getting a kill in bot and killed me even so it was 2/0 vs 0/1. Once laning was nearing its end and his W was maxxed and I started to build Black Cleaver I could 1v1 her fairly easily.

I see Riven as annoying, but like Nasus annoying, not unbeatable. Riven it basically comes down to harrassing her. I would often go for cs and do a quick Q on her then or when she pops her shield, just outrun her which is easy with Garen's Q til it wears off then beat her some more. It basically comes down to who gets low first. If she manages to get you low first you will die, if she does she will. And mind you Garen heals fast so unless killed all in he heals up fast while Riven has to rely on Hydra for sustain.

She no way needs a buff but I would rather fight a Riven vs a Heimerdonger. Even teemo at least he is easy to kill once you ignore his Blind. Donger can't be ganked really and has a too easy of a time getting kills, hell most times he can willingly allow himself to die and he will still get at least 1 kill as well in the process.

Riven is the top version of karthus:

Weak early but extremely anoying. Very easy to snowball hard. Useless if not fed R allows to pick easy kills in teamfights

Riven is very strong early.. Her early aggression is what allows her to snowball. Most would say she's stronger early than late. [If both were 0/0] :P The rest is pretty accurate, though.

If you've been playing against Riven's who aren't trying to snowball straight from levels 1-3 then they're playing her wrong. //And by that I don't mean jumping into your minion wave spamming QWE, lmao

She is very strong early AND extremely annoying. useless if not fed? too bad she has so much utility(aoe stun, dash with shield, aoe knockup, aoe ranged execute) so she can easily pick up kills then snowball after that.

post said that even in the pros, he saw nothing 'nerf worthy'. Riven got the first penta in the LCK for this season. And (as far as i know) is the only champion to get 2 pentas in the LCK this season done by different players - KOO Smeb and KT Ssumday (Sivir also has 2, but both by KT Arrow).

Now, lets analyze the 2 pentas (assuming of course that you mean she was just cleanup - of course she got the last hits to get the Penta, but youre suggesting that Riven only cleaned up 5 kills to get the penta): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sixbj5GM364

Note that in this video, Kassadin was started the fight at 20% HP - he was out of the fight from the start. Riven had the Rumble+Naut ult on her at the start of the fight, bringing her down to 20%, but was able to get Naut down to 50%. Riven then flashed forward to finish off Naut and oneshot LB for the first 2 kills - which he got 0 help with. Hardly just cleanup.

Riven just cleaned up the first kill on Bruam, and got some help taking down Shen. Then proceeded to flash forward 1v3 to delete both Lucian and Orianna who were both at 75%, the only help being the lingering effects of Viktors ult and maybe one autoattack from Corki.

that's your problem a high school kid can put up monster stats in a sports game but then if he plays against college guys hes not going to do so well and if he plays against pros he will get smashed

that's the problem fantic are in a very weak region yes they are a strong team but they are in a weak region and still fell behind in some games......i assure you that if they are down 5k+ gold and have lost and inhib to none against LGD they will not win that game

but for real stats dont tell the true story if you watched you would see how much better the decision making of good LPL and Korean teams are on top of things like stats will tell you wild turtle didn't do shit in the series against team liquid yet he had over 10 kills with no deaths a stolen baron and just in general good team fights but his damage was low.

and no im not an LGD fan im a tsm/c9 fan i just watch allot of pro games and then watch/read breakdowns of different teams

you know stats are more than just KDA right? Dragon/Baron kills, when they happen, etc. Whatever, you can argue about who is better or not, but it really doesn't matter until championships does it?

For all you know FNC could be a gem in a pile of trash, so having such stats would be a given. I'm looking at past worlds/international events and I don't remember EU beating a China/Korea team in my life

for real no other EU team stands out to me as good not even oregein is that impressive to me sure they have expeke but still not all that impressive its not like in china were you have LGD EDG IVG snake and other as all stand out teams or Korea with SKT KOO KT CJ those two regions are so strong compared to EU were you have fantic..... and in NA were you have TSM and then the competition falls off hard after those two teams in their region
