I don't understand matchmaking... even in normals or featured.

I get that this is normals and all, but what on earth? pre 30s should only be getting matched with bronze and silver at the most. The argument could be made that it's queue times right? Takes too long so it does what it can. That would be the case if the queue didn't take 15 seconds to match. Could we please make matchmaking a little more favorable to balance instead of speed if it's sub 1 minute queue?

riot forgoes balance in favor of starting the match sooner. the longer you wait the less the game is balanced.

it pains me how people still dont know this.

I understand that bro, the problem here is that with a 15 second queue we come up with garbage like this. I'd much rather have a 1 minute queue and not be matched with someone who has very little knowledge how to play. (Btw i think you're confused a bit. Typos possibly?)

I'm lvl 30 and get a fair bit of matches up against silvers and golds, it's not that different in terms of mechanics though so it's fine for me. Think of it as a slight challenge that Riot posed and if you win then congratz.

Anything sub 30 should pretty much never be put in games with or against golds even. If they're smurfing then they'll get to the place where they belong quicker, and if they're actually new players (which is rare) they'll have an easier time learning the game.

Then again it could be because of the fact that they have a 1 gold and 2 bronzes, all 3 of them could get matched up against a plat. Pre 30s can be matched with bronzes and silvers and those bronze and silvers can be matched with gold to plat. Just a guess from me, does seem a bit odd now that I look at it...

No you're right, but it makes very little sense overall.

Personally, if i have to wait an extra minute or two for a fair game that is a sacrifice im willing to make

Normals MMR and Ranked MMR is seperate for everyone playing the game..so if a plat ranked player plays normals for the first time this year, they are likely to be placed with newer players or players that havent played ranked in a long time as well.

My normal mmr is almost plat 3 from what I understand.
