ADCs having defensive items isn't supposed to be a problem

They've always build defensive items as 5th and 6th item. Don't get mad NOW.

In particular since Sterak is supposed to synergyze less than, say, GA and Spirit Visage with an ADC's build. The shield from Sterak scales with max HP, that ADCs don't build. The sustain increase from Spirit works on lifesteal. ADCs are drain tanks, and Sterak gives them a shield and HP. A shield is better than just flat HP, but still worse than resistances to have your lifestolen HP matter more. GA, conversely, gives only resistances and a passive for starting over to do DPS. Sterak's passive gives base AD, which ranged champs have lower than melees. Not enough to make it more worth on melees? Increase the difference further (by substracting 8% of the AD at lvl18 of every ranged champ) and give more attack speed to rangeds if it's too big of a nerf.

If Sterak's a problem, it's due to the kits of the reworked ADCs, the itemisation for the opponents, and the teamcomps. Not to it being available to ranged champs.

People are mad because they used ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of their buttons and someone didn't die so it must be unfair and overpowered.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Given the base health of ADCs, building just steraks means you need to be nearly taken down in one burst to activate it. It's really NOT that much of a shield given the fact that building Sterak's alone gives no resistances and thus means significantly less effective health on that shield. Furthermore, it gives a small amount of AD, it's like building a Frozen Mallet. The AD that it gives takes a significant chunk of your DPS compared to an actual ADC item. It's really not an issue, and it isn't even part of any ADCs core build, at least none that go bot lane. ADCs in other lanes hardly even build like traditional ADCs so it's hard to really say they're doing both the job of an ADC and the lane they are in at the same time.

item 3026 is seriously underrated right now. More people should use it. It's been nicely buffed to 60 of both resistances and right now with all the flat pen around and not everyone building item 3035 items, resistances are pretty valuable. I'm sure once people realized that it will become much more meta than it is right now.

it synergizes less on adc by a marginal amount.

you get about 25 to 29 ad from it as opposed to juggs who would get 35 ad. the difference isnt large enough. and the shield passive doesnt need to be as strong as on health stacking melees. it just needs to be strong enough to make it impossible to burst an out of position adc. he has time to disengage and heal back up with lifesteal while his opponents abilities are on cooldown.

either way there is a simple solution for that. make the item melee only for crying out loud. other options include making the shield scale with bonus health so it nerfs the item for champs who buy it as one and only defense, and giving the shield a health threshold like warmorgs.

any of those options makes more sense than nerfing the items stats.

I didn't say nerf the stats, I said not the first solution PLEASE.

The thing that people complain about is that some champs can go BT, Steraks, Firecannon, Essence Reaver , SV, boots of swiftness.

So you have BT shield to start + 20% lifesteal. That's fine. FC, ER, boots are still normal though 30% cdr is something else and 50% crit chance. SV for 10% more cdr for 40%, +5% more lifesteal on BT, 500 HP + 70 MR. Steraks for 500 more HP and +25% base AD. upon taking 400-1800 damage, you get a shield = 30% max hp + 25% more base AD.

The build gives 1000 more HP base. So a squishy 1,800-1,900 HP target now has 2,800-2,900 HP. Ok, you can't burst them anymore with your AP mid because of the HP and MR.

AD assassin then. That always works, right? Nope, 2,800 HP + 30% HP (933) as a shield = 3733 HP. They'll heal up their base HP again during the shield because of BT. Also don't forget about the 50-350 HP shield that BT can give.

So you have a carry that has the following stats: AD = 140 + 25% base (+25% base during shield) Crit = 50% HP = 1000 (+50-350 BT shield + 30% max HP shield from Steraks) AR = none MR = 70 CDR = 40% MS = Base + 65 + 5% FC

I normally don't care what a carry builds. I kill them early anyway. Though most ADCs that I see (yeah.. lucian, Corki, and Ez.. ok, other than them) Cait, Trist build IE, RFC, BT, LW, boots, PD.

Then you have Kog.... just... some people are good... some are badddddddddddddddddd...

Runaan's, Rageblade, Berserker's greaves, Steraks, Wit's End, BotRK.
