@Riot - Can you consider smoothing out Ezreal's Arcane Shift?

I find it incredibly awkward to play Ezreal with his Arcane Shift since he briefly stops when you cast it. Compared to pretty much any other character in the game with any kind of dash/blink/jump, this feels clunky. I would totally be willing to take a MS cut or damage cut somewhere if you could simply remove the stop-to-cast of his E so we can blink seamlessly while moving.

To add: Tristana's Rocket Jump is very similar in how it operates, and they both treat CC and damage while using their mobility spells in the same way - but she's not clunky to use. Why not smooth Ezreal out to feel more like Tristana does when using Rocket Jump?

thats cuz it has a small channel, if they got rid of that it would be a 7 sec cd flash

That's just wrong. It's not any different than anyone else's mobility spells - not Vayne's Tumble, Lucian's Dash, Riven's hops, or Tristana's Rocket Jump. In fact, Rocket Jump, which operates nearly identically (and bonus - resets on kill or bomb explosion), has a 22/20/18/16/14 second cooldown, where Arcane Shift has a 19/17.5/16/14.5/13 second cooldown. The skills are nearly identical, except for some reason Ezreal is saddled with a clunky cast time and Tristana is not.

his e is a BLINK not a dash its very different from any of those other spells for the simple fact it cant be interrupted

If you land CC on Tristana while she's starting her jump, it completes, and then she is CC'd for whatever duration is left. It's not able to be interrupted either, unless she's knocked up. Ezreal's E is absolutely no different here. I don't care if it's a blink or a dash. It still follows the same rules other mobility spells follow, with the shit drawback of having a clunky cast.

charge up =/= clunky charge up = his e not being a low cd flash, trists jump has a cc buffer during charge up, any kind of hard cc can knock her down mid jump they are not the same

You are actually trolling.

It's a trade off. It makes it harder for Ezreal to use it to dodge damage spells last second, but it makes allows him to not get pulled in by CC like Blitz's hook.

I'd be willing to trade that for smoother movement. I just don't think that kind of clunk casting has any place in the game as developed as it is at this point.

I think they want him to take the damage, so the best case scenario for you would be he keeps walking for half a second after you press the button, then he jumps - but that would feel like lag rather than an intentional action.

I would take putting the pause at his destination instead of his cast, as I feel like that would make it feel smoother while running.

And to expand, Tristana operates in a similar manner with her Rocket Jump - it follows the same principles as Ezreal's Arcane Shift (she is affected by CC in the same way), and she's not clunky to use. Why couldn't they smooth it out to operate like Rocket Jump?
