Aatrox needs a passive rework! Please, read and consider!
Many Aatrox threads have gained traction lately on Reddit. A lot is held in common with most of them: they still like and want his revival passive, which is his reason for being too easy to kill at all stages of the game as compensation for coming back to life at level one. It's an unnecessary and difficult to balance feature.
What kind of War God needs to die to prove a point? How does dying fit his theme of never losing a battle? Dying is not the thing I'd remember about someone like Aatrox, but apparently he needs to at least once to get the jump on people. And he stands still, and he was easy to kill in the first place, and... ugh.
Listen. Aatrox needs what every fighter needs, which is proper base stats and SCALING. And most important, an easily modifiable kit, where numbers are the ONLY thing that need to be tweaked, and by a tiny bit. To fit with Aatrox's theme, he needs to be hard to beat, right? Someone with unsurpassed skill, whose blade seems to live on its own in a dance of war and death? Where does a second life come into play there? What I'm saying is, a champ like him never needed it. Let's make some lore connections, let's tie him more strongly to winning, and fighting, and... Tryndamere. Why him? He gets stronger as battle continues, right? His rage fills and depletes in battle as he fights and heals. Blood Well can be like that too, but modified for a feel similar to how Aatrox is now.
And don't gimme that "but we don't need copypasting with passives waaah" shut it. No one complained when Rek'sai took a leaf from Renekton's book.
Instead of coming back to life to and waiting for 17 people to jump him as soon as he gets up, Aatrox can cash in his filling Blood Well for damage instead of HP when using his Blood Price (with a cap on the highest damage of course). A percentage of his lifesteal/recovered health from Blood Thirst would fill his Blood Well. This isn't to say it's the only resource. Aatrox could just use his health for enhanced damage with an empty well, but that would be riskier. FILL HIS BLOOD WELL WITH BLOOD THIRST AS HE FIGHTS, AND CASH OUT WITH BLOOD PRICE. IF HIS BLOOD WELL IS FULL THEN HE GETS STAT BONUSES THAT AID HIM IN PROLONGED COMBAT SITUATIONS. IF HIS BLOOD WELL IS EMPTY THEN BLOOD PRICE WILL COST HEALTH. This way, he can still focus on attack speed and lifesteal items as a fighter and NOT be Tryndamere when it comes to critting everything all the time. His damage advantages come from a well-fed sword (and hey look at that, a theme consistency as well).
Once again, as his Blood Well fills he could receive scaling attack speed and maybe MS, and if he pops his ultimate his Blood Well is infinite for a duration, along with increased range, attack speed and lifesteal.
That is definitely manageable in terms of nerfing and buffing numbers, and he could also have his fucking stats back. Good bases, proper scaling, the works. What kind of War God can't take a punch? Let's change that, I know it can be done and we can have our Darkin Blade.

EDIT: Being an idiot, of course I forgot his skill costs. Yes, they would work the same way Blood Price does, pulling from thr Blood Well if he has it but detracting from his health if it's empty.
