hold on a second why was revive removed? (i looked it up)

it had a 10 minute cooldown so i would say its balanced its basically playing the game with one summoner spell its a risk vs reward spell. is the only reason why its removed due to it outperforming flash? why are we at the mercy of death timers instead of the only counterplay back then vs death was revive???

It was used almost exclusively by Karthus who would also run teleport. Die once, revive, teleport back to the fight, die again. Oh and also inters

i seen it has more potential then just karthus plays though.

It doesn't. The cooldown is insanely long for something that only has much impact late game.

what your saying is that majority of the games dont last long enough to be useful?

No, I'm saying that the early game is too important to be playing with a virtually useless summoner spell.

thats why i call it a high risk vs high reward.

It's not particularly high reward either. Late game you still need to walk back to the team fight and by then it's likely either. It is an extreme gimmick that is extremely frustrating to play against and extremely unsatisfying to play with

That was removed like 4 years ago.

i know it was im asking why was it though all i seen was it has massive risk and outplay potential in terms of macro-game. i could actually see this spell replacing flash or at least have the best fight vs what to get in summoners spells.

It was removed because no one used it, except some karthus players.. which he was almost as rare as the summoner spell himself back then.

holy snip i woulda spammed the hell outta it i see its risk vs reward.

It was mostly used by trolls to feed harder when running it down mid with 6-boots Rammus.

isnt that a behavior league problem not a game balance thing though.

Correct.

Having I back would make the summoner swapping rune a lot more interesting...

Which is a good thing. If you're going to lose, its better to lose faster.

I would rather not have the troll in the first place.

Besides, its easy to dodge when your jungler has revive.

It was removed because it encouraged dying as a game mechanic. Add to that that because of the power of it, it meant it had to have an outrageous cooldown, meaning you got at most maybe 4 uses out of it in the typical game, it just wasn't worth keeping.

arent death timers too crippling late game though? how often to see my nexus be destroyed with no possible counterplay to a ace. with only one enemy remaining. all towers from 2nd tower to inhib to nexus in one whole shot.i see the justification to use revive in that spot.

You mean like Sion's passive?

xDogMeatx1 votes

thx for that :D.

WoonStruck2 votes

Either everyone will use it, or nobody but karthus and sion will use it.

There is no healthy in-between. Hell, just karthus and sion using it in general is unhealthy.

xDogMeatx1 votes

inting sion tricks must be annoying. why not reduce sions passive damage or make towers untargetable vs dead sion. that would soften the whole revive sion thing.
