why does kench have a high armor base?

47 (without shards included) armor is pretty unfair. now with shards its like getting almost 2 chainmails for free early game worth of armor.

12 armor plus 47 is 59 armor aka almost 2 chainmails thats not including runes and his 2nd life bar.

im not complaining entirely since he needs a place in the game but jesus isnt that pretty big amount of armor for a hp/resist stacking monster?

Because he´s literally a counter to early burst/all-in AD champs? (Toplane)

Because he needs to tank more monster damage because his clear is slow, so he needs the resists to survive? (Jungle)

Because...he's slowed and will take free potshots when he's saving his carry and not having decent resists will make the ability redundant as he will just die? (Support)

is the fact hes great vs fighters a side effect? just asking

Because he's a support sorta, and the only wa for him to support is with high armor, but people exploited this by going toplane

I feel ya, gotta love how his q has a negative one cooldown with virtually no mana costs

Isn't armor supposed to be useless anyways? That's what everyone is saying so who cares if he has 42 or 10 It's all the same right?

useless until after chainmail then you notice the hp drop differences due to the heavy armor increase.

I mean, I am saying what people here on boards like to say. "Armor is pointless why build it! Still die in 0.0000001 seconds!" Obvious exaggeration but that seems to be the consensus that people here seem to have. It's a stupid one but one that many people here have regardless.

He will still maintain his armor anyways since what makes him so oppressive in the top lane isn't the armor but how sticky he is in combination of the damage he does. One of those needs to be lower imo.

Pretty cherrypicked

Resistance means a lot more in the early game Is all I'm going to add

Yes, doesn't mean it becomes useless as the game goes on. Also no It's not "pretty cherrypicked" It's the reality of a huge group of people here. If people weren't expecting to survive the entire enemy team focusing them every single time they engage like monkeys they would actually realize how important resistances are.

"Rito I died to this assassin too broken fix!" "Did you build any defenses?" "That's useless I die just as quick whether I build it or not"
checks game and sees a fed champion that has 3 items killing someone with just a single item

It's pointless past 100, so add lethality and %shred into the mix and armor gets useless pretty quick

Ok... so somehow everyone is an AD assassin and somehow builds BC even though BC is also considered trash by a lot of people. I mean if you like dying sure don't build armor. Just don't complain when you die fast to people building to counter your low armor builds. There is a reason you get a mixture of armor and HP. A million armor with no HP is useless just like a million HP with no resistances whatsoever.

Love how people bring up lethality time and time again. You counter lethality by building armor not the other way around. Lethality is always better against low armor targets and a single fully completed armor item is enough to counter the lethality gained through items but somehow negating 3 items worth of lethality with a single armor item isn't enough I guess.
