I have recently started playing kennen, I have been doing well but I have been dying too much and I feel like my ult isnt doing as much damage as I feel it should. Im looking for build tips, ways to keep safe and possible combos w/ my passive. etc.

For AP Kennen, the play style is pretty much spamming Q plus auto attacks on the enemy laner, and pressing W when they have the mark on them. The ideal combo is 5 autos to get one mark on them, landing Q for a second and W for the third one, which procs the stun. Another option is using E on them plus Q and W. However, E is generally used for the move speed rather than damage.
As AP Kennen, your ult is very effective on groups of squishies - keep them in it for 1.5 seconds and you stun them. When good opportunities arise, you can flash in. Tanks can sustain your ult damage quite easily though, so I wouldn't do the same with them. Zhonya's can help you stay alive when ulting as your ult will continue whether you are in stasis or not. I also like to get Rylai's as your ult can apply slows well.
ADC Kennen obviously revolves around autoattacks; if you have landed enough on an enemy to get the mark on them, throw out Q and then press W for the stun. Getting attack speed items, primarily BOTRK, is important to get the mark on them quickly.
Kennen generally has quite a low range with his abilities and autoattacks, so it is something that you will need to be careful of when poking. Enemies like 
can delete your health if they pounce on you so either wait for their abiltiies to go on cd or stay near tower. You are outranged bot lane by 
so play safe and wait for an engage.

BananaSlayerAMO1 votesI think it was mostly because he was ahead in kills, which enabled him to buy items earlier and level up his abilities quicker.
EndlessSorcerer1 votesMost Kennen's I've seen have been building Hextech Protobelt into Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
These items are largely used for the sticking potential they provide: Hextech Protobelt provides an additional gapcloser (and burst) while Rylai's Crystal Scepter lets you stick to a target and keep them in your ultimate (since a single proc on the target will slow them). The slow is great for kiting champions too, especially melee champions.
It could also be the timing at which you receive items. Taking a quick look at your last Kennen ranked game, I can see that your CS was rather low (though it was average for the game). If you are getting items later than normal, then you will be doing less damage than you potentially could.
If you are having trouble last hitting, I would recommend taking Doran's Blade as your starting item (which you did) and taking the Savagery mastery (+5 damage to minions and monsters on autoattacks and single-target spells).

MunchCrunchLunch1 voteskennen is the easiest champion to win games with. i haven't played too many games with him but 15 wins and 4 losses is pretty damn good.
only weakness is waveclear. that is it. hes not bad in lane. hes strong mid and late game. a great team fighter. great champion

is first item. hp and ap is decent. tanky beginning. if against ap then

is also a good item. but i don't rush it. only good when you snowball. otherwise there are better more consistent options. if they aren't tanky then it might not be a bad idea to get this instead of voidstaff. and substuite the cdr boots for mr pen boots if you don't really want the 40% cdr . 30% decent enough and flat pen quite good against squishies.
